-No more back counting schollies
-10th on field coach is coming
-If recruiting a player from High School A, their HC cannot work any summer camps at your institution. Gone are the days of a coach packing up 5-10 players and taking them out of state for a summer camp, more than likely.
-Early signing day on 3rd Wednesday of December
-If you have recruited player A, a college cannot hire player A's coach until a 2 year window has closed.
-July could become a dead period, eliminating many big time camps around the country.

I dont see how this could work. if you coach at a successful HS program with a lot of regular talent coming through the door, such as IMG academy or some other schools, you might never get an opportunity to coach at the college level.

I actually don't hate these changes, if they're in fact true. Though getting rid of the back-counting of scholarships for EE's may become problematic.

The only one of those that makes any sense is the 10th on field coach.

I feel like the NCAA may be trying to think of ways to make some of the top talent spread out a little more and this is one of those secretive ways.

As far as I can tell, all of these changes benefit current college coaches damn near exclusively.

It keeps current coaches from telling "x" coach they will hire them if they steer them to their school. Same thing with the camp stuff over summer. If these kids want to see these schools they can take unofficial visits on their own or use their OV's.

I get that, but a lot of high school coaches at major programs would be good candidates for college positions but are having 5-10 kids sign every class. They're kind of fricked if they want to move into the college ranks. It's a barrier to entry, at the very least.

On the other one, HS coaches can't work those camps now, which takes away the transportation for like half the campers. They get screwed out of exposure, just like they do with the July dead period.

The unintended consequences of these are huge.

This is going to hurt the big schools when it comes to late bloomers

With the exception of the 10th coach all those are awful ideas.

No back counting? Why? You'd rather teams not reach the 85 limit?

Early signing period is disastrous. Too many flips can happen between the 3rd and NSD in Feb. it happens every year. Coaches are going to manipulate the frick out of that on official visits during seasons.

Good. Should have done this a long time ago.

This kind of sucks for recruiting junkies and services.

With the exception of the tenth coach, none of these rules benefit the student athlete.

Early signing day would be to allow the early enrollments to have their spotlight?

It could also be used to force the hand of a kid who isn't quite sure if he wants to stick with his commitment. Especially if that kid isn't a five star.

I think the early signing period is the best one for the kids. That way they won't get screwed over by the big programs that drop them late once they run out of schollys.

I guess that one is a split for the kid. On one hand, the kid won't get Carter'd. On the other hand, they may have to make a decision sooner than they'd like.
