Why hasn't he committed to Georgia yet?
he wants to commit on NSD

LSUrb says Georgia wants him as a linebacker, but he wants to be a lineman...
Last I heard he prefers the 3-4. He seems out of position at DE, frankly

He's been a NSD announcement guy for as long as I can remember. I keep reading that on the LSUrb but haven't seen him actually say it anywhere.

uh... he didn't look out of position at the AA game... and LSUrb is saying he prefers a 4-3. but I don't know why they'd necessarily know any better so I guess that makes sense

I'm talking relatively to what he could be as a stand up OLB in the 3-4. An absolute freak in the mold of a Justin Houston, Jarvis Jones, etc. He's got perfect physical traits for that position

I sincerely doubt any of them have any good intel on that. I just looked for anything he has said regarding scheme preference and can't find anything. I thought I remembered him saying he like the 3-4, but it was awhile ago so I'm not entirely sure

I agree re: LSUrb, not exactly the sharpest intel coming out of there lately
And the comparison I was going to make was with Mingo. Who is, currently, a good 3-4 OLB... but who made a living as a stud WDE in our 4-3. I know that's had a lot of appeal with him.
My main question's answered though, if he's been an NSD guy the whole way then there's nothing really to sweat out. I figured I'd check in because the situation reminded me of Tony Brown, who was an LSU "lock" for the longest time, waited until the AA Game to commit, and got convinced to go to Bama in the last couple of weeks. I want to think him waiting is good for us, but of course I do

Him waiting has actually been good for Georgia. If he'd committed last spring, it probably would have been Bama. Summer to mid-Fall would have been UF. UGA has gained momentum over the last couple months.
Big difference between him and Brown is that Carter is in-state for UGA. The pressure is only getting more intense. LSU has a puncher's chance though, I would guess

Did you win the SEC East???
Did you lay in the SEC Championship??
Did you play in a BCS Bowl?

To be honest, He would get experience in both ways as UGA is often switching between a 4-3 and 3-4 and even a 4-2-5 based on what the offense is showing.

It's good for both of us then. No doubt LSU has made a late push for Carter, and we're on his radar now. I still think he's Georgia bound, but I'll take the recent attention.
