This is funny because I have posted many updates to at least four of his games I have seen, speaking in detail about the player.

Not surprising, if I don't say something you want to hear... butthurt.

This is just one example on this board. None of the rest have been LSU recruits, and Carter is not considered by most to be a likely commit to LSU. You look like the one who is "butthurt" (much like some of the other posters on the SECrb lately) by spewing BS about recruits that have no interest in their favorite program. Anyway, keep it up. You look foolish.

I just gave my opinion on the player; one I have consistently posted on this recruiting board and on the Alabama forum. Not too long ago during the GA 6A high school CG I gave my accounts of Sawyer completely outplaying Zo Carter and how Zo Carter was a huge disappointment.

Dude this has nothing to do with LSU. You guys have got to be the most butthurt sensitive people ever. I haven't even mentioned you, I'm just talking about a recruit I've seen play many times this season. I don't even give a crap about LSU if it ain't recruiting and we (thank God) long time ago passed on Zo Carter.

Before the season I was hyped about him. After seeing him against Booker T, North Gwinett and some other schools he greatly disappointed.

This isn't a YStar only thing either. Go read the blue board on 247 or any forum not UGA's and see what people who actually watched the kid this season thought.

The funny thing is I doubt you have even watched more than highlight films. Watch an actual game (heck his last one) and you'll understand why we say what we do about Zo Carter.

I think most on the UGA forum know that he will need a year to put on weight. Definitely a project, but at least for UGA, we have the right guys already on campus and so can afford to take that time with him.

Here is one of many examples. I think this was before any LSU interest was shown..

Army All American Dante Sawyer - 7 - DE -Commits to USC

quote:

He looked way better than Lorenzo Carter in their championship game.

quote:

It is crazy to think this supposedly 5* senior DE could at any point get the best out of a junior highly touted OL. Right?

What a pathetic excuse.

If that had been one game, I still wouldn't buy it but I'd give Lorenzo a pass. However he has sucked in every game (some getting dominated) that I have seen minus his first half against that same boogey man junior OT the first time they played NG months ago.

The discussion was with a UGA fan. Nothing about LSU. It's about the player being very underwhelming and easily dominated.

I believe his 5th star is based off potential, and Carter is dripping with potential. I've seen him play, and I agree with you on some points. He's been underwhelming at times. I get it. Like others have said, he's a project, but I feel like most LSU fans feel like he can play a good role within the LSU defense in a year or two. Intentionally or not, you make Carter sound like an average prospect.

FWIW, I don't think Carter ends up a Tiger, and won't be upset if he decides to play ball at Georgia. He's a take though.

stars are all based off of their nfl potential. people seem to not understand this. it's an nfl future rating, not a right now rating

LSU gets first pick of nearly all in-state talent, and there is really only competition from one source (a former LSU head coach with heavy ties to LA and a long history of winning). That's understandable.

Now, UGA getting plundered by random schools across the south makes no sense.

What does your post have to do with Carter?

Outside of the BTW game he hasn't been dominated but it's a matter of opinion I guess. I never saw him get manhandled by Hyatt.

Exactly. Even in the B.T.W. game, Carter had his moments IIRC.

You do realize that the OL that Sawyer was up against are not even half the OT that Carter went against in Hyatt, right? Not surprising that he looked better than Carter in that game. Sawyer is no slouch either, but much closer to his ceiling than is Lorenzo.

Anyone that thinks he didn't get the best of Hyatt at all, simply didn't watch the game. Apparently didn't watch either game vs NG, for that matter. And whoever you quoted clearly didn't watch any of his games past Booker T if they can say he "he has sucked in every game (some getting dominated) that I have seen" or that he is "easily dominated". Either that or they throw around the "sucks" and "dominated" descriptors far too easily.

I think your problem is that you are looking at him like a defensive end instead of what he is: an OLB playing out of position at Norcross as a DE. If he goes to a 4-3 team, he is at least 2 years away from making an impact.

FWIW, Carter is not the #1 player in the nation or even in the state of GA, but 5* is not a reach with his potential. You're are acting like he is some scrub not even fit for FBS and that is blowing it way out of proportion. Lots of guys get ranked on potential instead of what they doing right now, especially on 247.

Don't bother. He doesn't understand or doesn't want to. I tried in another thread already.

the Clowney effect. Person watches one game and assumes player is a bust even though every recruiter, team, projected report has Zo Carter projected as a 5star. His measurable a are off the charts and he is raw but I'll take a raw freak like him any day if there is the potential to be really good. UGA has a good dline comin back next year so he can sit and learn. This is a big if but it would be nice to land him.

Re-watch the second half of North G's first game with Norcross.

He did have an impressive first half. That was what I expected of him. Then he just disappeared and allows himself to be pushed around.

I doubt he let himself be pushed around. I expect his style of play to really mature once he can learn from a college staff & get into a college weight program.

Carter made an average LT look like Cameron Robinson in an earlier game this year

Dudes really raw and he gets his ranking on measurables alone

He's a luxury

He would play OLB at UGA, but we're pretty stacked there as well for the next year or two. He has plenty of time to learn and develop.
