So you're going to be better at every single position but CB... Got it

You act like improving on what we did last year would be some sort of difficult task.

CB is the only place there is ANY dropoff -- and it's only in experience, not athleticism. Sit back and watch it happen.

So the premise of your argument is that a 4 star freshman is better than a 3 star senior. Interesting.

What did I say initially? Or is it too difficult to read? We won't likely be starting any 4* true freshmen this year. If you are asking if I think a 4* rsFR, 4* soph, or 4* jr is better than a walk-on 2* juco -- the answer is yes.

I'm sure the same thing you did for Benardrick McKinney too... and the laundry list of other guys we've had that went badass in college despite not being highly recruited.

Engie, you are now required to eat your crow. I saw where you would not comment in the ACC rights grant, so I have had to come find you. Eat your crow now engie. I spent way to many posts to prove you wrong and now you are. Eat up

What are you even talking about? Eat my crow? About what? You are conveniently changing your entire argument now.

I said all along that was the ONLY way the ACC would survive is a full GOR just like the Big12 had -- I've yet to see the formal announcement where they've taken that step although it appears to be in the works. If they do, good for them--good for us. It cements their place in mediocrity while the SEC soars for at least 15 or 20 years.

Your argument was that UNC would never leave Duke -- not that the ACC would survive in general.

If all of these position upgrades are so obvious, why weren't these guys playing last year? After all, Mullen is a great talent evaluator. Surely he would realize these guys would give him a better chance of winning a game outside of the SBC.

Eat it engie. I win. You lose. I'd love to go back through our argument but I don't have that time. Hope that crow tastes good.

Why do you think we fired the DC?

You name the bet -- we are better on defense this year in practically every significant metric despite a much tougher schedule.

Most of your fanbase said there would be no drop off from Diaz to Wilson either

I was in that group at first...there was no notable dropoff the first year -- but there were definite early warning signs that you only really see in hindsight(fewer sacks and TFL -- and increase in average rush yardage). Of course, we all realized that his version was much more boring to watch than Diaz's with the lack of blitzing...

Bottom line is -- the DC almost always needs to be the LB coach. This was the case in something like 23 of the top 25 defenses last year...

The right personnel goes a long way toward making up for the lack of scheme as we saw in 2011.

Only place I had a real issue with his personnel usage was in his position group though. That made absolutely zero sense and handicapped the rest of the defense -- virtually killing the actual value of the DBs.

I just REALLY want to know what happened in the second half of the MTSU game last year. Did they let Collins call the plays? I have no idea--but looked like an entirely different defense. It looked like the one we expected to see all year.

I REALLY want to know how an SEC team goes 8-5 yet the best team they managed to beat , arguably, was Troy.

I was at that game. I was impressed with the way the Dawgs shut down MTSU's high profile offense.

That's a bitch of a road game -- hence why at least two SEC teams had fallen in that stadium before. Glad we aren't going back.

Same could be said about the "return to glory" OM team that only beat one decent team and lost to 2 mediocre teams prior to the Cotton Bowl. Point being -- MSU and OM should ever apologize for being graced with what eventually works out as an easy SEC schedule. In 5 years, all anyone remembers is the record anyway.
