I get the approach here.

But the thing is, I'm not sure how "over-inflated" the view is. We're scooping in elite talent at a shocking pace.

Come Wednesday, in less than a week TAMU will have landed the state's best player in 2013 and 2014, as well as the best DL in 2013.

A&M has exploded; it will be infinitely harder for LSU to recruit east TX.

that's a far cry from "LSU will just get the leftovers that A&M allows us to scoop up" that you implied earlier

like i said, we will still have an easier time in TX than you will have in LA due to sheer #s

Agreed.

Most the stuff from me on this thread is just smack, albeit weak smack.

I wouldn't say "shocking pace". You know just as well as anybody how many years Texas' has raked in a top 3 class by the July before signing day several years, and how about USC recruiting 4 or 5 years ago?

Those are shocking, now is a big time for recruiting to heat up, so its not a surprise at all players are figuring things out the closer we get to February.

You may be right but rankings will change drastically.

"#1" players in Texas for the initial rankings over the years that have come to mind but fell from that quickly.

Lache Seastrunk (although he's playing great now)

Tyrone Swoopes (just this year from 5 to 4)

Chancey Aghayere (LSU-DE was initially a 5 star in the rankings)

Darius White ( was initially a 5 star-committed to Texas, enrolled, then transferred)

No one offered Mills

And they failed miserably not doing so. The guy came in, won a starting job at CB on a Top 10 team, and became a freshman All-American. Took a great one right out of Texas and you dolts didn't even know it at the time.

No one offered Hunter

Are you just playing stupid now( well I guess not just now, but the whole thread).

Hunter was a Top 247 composite player last year, with offers from Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas Tech among others...including your own team.

You took Thompson because of the transition.

We took Thompson because he wanted to come here and not aTm. We have this thing called a track record of putting DBs into the NFL. And Thompson also had a very impressive offer list.

Looks like you failed miserably in your 2012 LSU-TX assessment.

And for the person who asked, yes, Kyrion Parker was committed to LSU. Then he got the offer he wanted.

From TX, not LA.

I agree that LSU is no longer "all in" on RSJ

So how can we be "all in" on someone, well, by your own words, we are not "all in" on? I dont think you even understand what "all-in" on even means. We have 4-5 other WRs committed, clearly we were not "all in" on RSJ.

Trey Quinn will make a wonderful complement for RSJ.

Once again, Paris is not going to aTm.

Don't believe I've said LSU will get less than two Texas players in 2013.

I do think I said LSU is only the outright leader for one elite player (Paris).

The general point is that LSU doesn't have first dibs in Texas and never has. While Texas might have been the state's primary protector of in state talent, A&M has assumed that role for now.

That's not delusion or hyperbole. I'm simply stating what is happening right now.

Paris isn't the State's best player.

He's the best player LSU has a shot with, though.

Hey, derp:

Keep up with thread context. It's a discussion about Texas recruiting--specifically how you don't run the state.

The Parker reference is directly on point.

Damaging controlling bad here.

You said
"I'll say this now: LSU might land Paris, but that will be the only elite Texas talent they land in '14."

Then you said LSU will get maybe 2 guys in response to a post about several 2014 players.

So once again, you're retracting your previous statement, yes?

No one is saying LSU gets the pick of whoever in Texas, we are saying we occasionally go in and get some great Texas talent. Which is true, look who we hauled in last year for instance. A freshman all-american and 2 guys the great Ags offered.

LSU was absolutely all-in for RSJ before being told "no thanks, I want to actually score TDs."

That you've suspended the hard sell after seeing the writing on the wall is irrelevant to how badly you pursued him before you we're showed the door.

Of course that's obvious.

Nobody is impressed with aTm getting a commit from a TX player, you SHOULD get those guys. Let us know when you start taking recruits from LA that we want like we take out of TX from you.

Said with intent to troll.

Is that not obvious?

I think LSU could get 2 of the consensus top 10 players in the state.

I've held that opinion before posting on this thread. You guys haven't presented anything enlightening, so not sure why you'd argue I'm "retracting."

Yeah that won't be happening anytime soon, although I actually do think A&M has a legitimate shot at Quinn.

I just wanted to make clear the lines of recruiting demarcation.
