Garner definitely stopped coaching at the peak of his game and got a little apathetic at the ending for UGA, but don't kid yourself into thinking he was not head and shoulders above what you replaced him with
Horse shite, he'd been sleepwalking the previous 2-3 years. Chris Wilson was a step up from those years.
Wilson was much more than "head and shoulders above" Garner. He was orbiting on a satellite while Rodney was tunneling toward the Earth's core.
Wilson actually recruited instead of pissing off recruits and showing up to HS/in-homes drunk and he could coach a 3 man line effectively instead of just bitching about it and not even producing a decent 4 down line (which is where RG was supposed to shine).
Garner should have been fired along with Martinez and crew. Good riddance from our point of view, but good for him and good for you guys that the change of scenery seems to have reignited the desire in him to do his job.
As far as vs who we have now, I'll concede that Rodney is the better recruiter, but he is not half the coach Rocker is and the Aubs know it.

Declaring any kid a lock before his Senior year is a waste of time. Unless he is the son of the coach I wouldn't call any recruit a LOCK.
Nobody did. Said he there is no such thing, but he is as close as it gets. In others words, anyone but UGA getting Trent would be a recruiting upset on the level of Ole Miss pulling Tunsil. Except that Trent is considered more of a sure thing to UGA than Tunsil ever was.

Our 2012 line was the final indictment on Garner as a DL coach at Georgia. All 3 starters are currently in the NFL and had several future NFLers as backups, and it was a dogshit unit.

pointing towards Ray Drew's stats, all 6 sacks came in only 4 games and his TFL in 5 games. That is the definition of inconsistent and not supporting your "Ray Drew had a great year" argument. He had a few good games.
He had a great year. Quit stat looking and watch some games.

So Chris Wilson isn't a great DL coach? Are you really arguing that right now?

as someone who's watched both men's DLs perform, give me RG over Rocker.... outside of 2010 and his last year at Ole Miss, he's produced some pretty average (at best) DLs... and he's never coached in a defense like this either.
good luck...

Just like Garner got reignited recruitingat Auburn, so is Rocker.
Rocker was well known as being an absentee when it came to recruiting. Hell, Mike Pelton was a better recruiter than Rocker
If Rocker is actually hitting the trail though and doing what it takes, he could be an elite recruiter but I doubt it lasts

No.
Trent will likely be in Athens in the fall of 2015, but a subpar year by UGA, a good year by Auburn will make it very close. Richt will be on the hot seat. His mom is a UGA fan but don't kid yourself into thinking she doens't at least like/accept AU.
UGA has the opportunity to all but lock Trent up with a solid season, but you also have the chacne to make it damn close too.

It is going to help out a lot that he actually lives in the middle of his recruiting area.

His mom likes UGA and FSU. FSU is the threat right now. AU is behind Tennessee. He does have a coach that likes to take him to Auburn, so y'all have that going for you.

You are delusional if you think Auburn isn't even in his top 3 at the moment.
His mom doesn't have a problem with Auburn is the point I was making

His coach does have some weird love for Auburn. Never understood that.
Location will be big if a team has a shot to upset UGA with Trent. Trent is like Montravious Adams and has a good relationship with his mom. FSU and Auburn have that advantage over UGA.
If Trent goes outside the SEC I would be floored though.

He just did an interview with 247 on Monday naming UGA, FSU, and UT as his top 3 in order. I didn't make it up.

We'll have a good enough season that Richt's job will still be safe.
And how in the heck do you know if his mom has a better relationship with AU and FSU than UGA?
