Saban is obviously recruiting these kids at a VERY young age. It's a Nick Saban type of move. Recruit kids at a younger age and turn Louisiana into an early evaluation battle. It's really smart to forge relationships with these kids when they're young, so that when they become studs they feel like they owe you something. I'm sure he knew Saban before he knew the girl. We needed to limit LC's contact with that guy 3 yrs ago. Recruiting in football through camps is becoming a lot like aau basketball, and Nicky just beat us to our best prospect in years. No way LC should feel like that about alabama. We knew this day was coming, so it's game on now.

Saban built the wall around Louisiana when he was there, think he doesn't know how to knock it down?

And Saban ticked off many LA high school coaches also.

I don't know of the past few years. In 2012, three of the top five recruiting in Alabama(Rivals) are going to Florida St and all three of defensive players. That is suposed to be Saban's area right? Bama is only getting one of those ranked 6 through 10.

Hardily locking down his own state this year so Saban needs to look at other states. Is he letting Jumbo Fisher into his backyard and making headway with all those instate coaches?

They can have Shanks, he'll never play significant minutes.

We cant compete with the ACC's baseball rules

Casher wont qualify, and was never a priority for Bama.

The only one of those 3 that anyone is bummed about losing is Winston. Casher won't qualify and Shanks is out of shape, lazy, and soft.

this. Shanks is nothing special, so we're only missing out on Jameis right now.

Reason #2, he made his decision 2 years ago, and since then, he has seen LSU go 25-2 and 2-0 over Bama. Hell, he probably will not see Bama beat LSU until 2013 at best, but he still wants to go to Bama.

or you could look at it as 'Bama is 1-2 possibly going 2-2 against LSU and in the BCSCG 2 out of the last 3 years. Then you throw in the fact that we COULD have NINE first round draft picks in the past 2 years.

#1 is a QB, they play on offense.

Too bad about Casher, he's a fricking beast. The only chance he qualifies is that DC found a school that would play ball in helping him qualify.

Nice to know the fan bases think alike. Ya'll are down playing the other school commitments as well as any school.

Those top Alabama players are ranked by the same system used to rank the Louisiana (and other states players). I don't see how the rankings could be that far off from one state to the other.

Well Shanks doesnt even start for his HS team. What does that tell you?

And I said Casher is a beast, but he wont qualify. He also doesnt really fit in our system. Would fricking kill in yalls.

Nobody's saying Casher isn't good, just that he won't qualify.

We'd obviously like to get Winston.

Losing Shanks, on the other hand, isn't a big deal.

No we aren't. Shanks didn't start for his HS team and barely played this season because he's soft and lazy. If Casher enrolls at FSU this fall the NCAA needs to be 3 feet up their arse before he gets his books.

Winston and Casher are both really really good. Casher just won't qualify. Shanks is a head scratcher. He has talent, but he doesn't even put forth an effort part of the time, let alone all of the time. No reason to even have him in the top 20 in the state rankings. Unless the FSU coaches miraculously discover a way to motivate him, he will never play a meaningful down of college football.

I've seen Shanks play several times. not saying he's bad, just that he's not as good as you might think based on his ranking. & why would Bama pursue him when they have a great shot at Eddie Goldman?
