The rumor mill has it that Madison Prep, Jones' HS, and LSU aren't exactly on the same page right now, which might have something to do with it. It's May though, and it's not like Jones isn't living in Red Stick.
Considering the minimum GPA to play college ball is a 2.0, Jones would have to be hovering somewhere around buckshot to be a grade risk this early in the game...

Madison Prep has sent Jarell Martin and Brandon Sampson to LSU recently, that's most definitely not it. So wherever you heard that rumor, it's total bullshite.
It's primarily he's not very high up on the board right now, because he doesnt really fit our scheme.

But you run a 4 man front, we run a 3 man front. So we need massive DL which Jones just isn't then great pass rushers for the buck OLB and Jones also isn't that. That's the problem with him in our scheme.
If we were still base 4-3 then yeah no problem sticking him out on the edge, we had guys his size all the time recently out there.

There may be some merit to it since the coach there has a son that was publicly not too pleased to not get offered by LSU and ended up going to Texas last year. Not saying the rumor is true, but it could be.

Yeah this is were I find it hard for the people that say teams use every formation and don't have a true base. Personal needs are just so different.

I know you've been hitting the Monroe area, but have you been hitting Baton Rouge hard? That's a 3 hour difference and LSU's home turf.
