Yea, it really sucks how much Saban puts up with players that don't work hard off the field.

That is total bullshite. The kid is winning MVP's at camps. I don't think it is a work ethic issue.

Some mods on rivals alluded to the fact that Mack already thinks he is a "made man" because of his 5* status. Doesn't necessarily work hard off of the field (practice, weight-room,etc.) because he believes he is the shite basically and Muschamp doesn't like that.

I'm going to have to call bullshite on this one.

BALTIMORE - Rivals.com's Adam Friedman and Woody Wommack break down the top 18 defensive performers of the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour at M&T Stadium on Saturday.

1 DB
Lyndell Wilson
Montgomery (Ala.) Carver

Wilson lived up to his five-star rank on Saturday morning and had a lot of success during the one-on-one session. He had two interceptions and one of them came when he jumped a shallow slant route. Wilson is deceptively fast and kept up with the running backs on their downfield routes. Even against the tight ends, Wilson used his speed to his advantage to stay within an arm's length.

He doesn't practice hard yet was the #1 Defensive Performer at the Rivals 5-star Challenge.

Here's another example of someone taking notice of Wilson's poor work ethic:

quote:

As usual, the Southeast showed that it has some of the best talent in the country, with several prospects turning in excellent performances at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. Here's a breakdown of the Southeast stars that shined the brightest.

1 LB
Lyndell Wilson
Montgomery (Ala.) Carver

Wilson, the day's linebacker MVP, was fantastic in the morning session and carried that momentum right into the evening's 7-on-7 tournament, which saw him function as the best player on a struggling team. Wilson is smooth in coverage and moves freakishly well for his size. He moves well laterally and has rare speed for a player of his build.

Again, I am not saying these things are true or untrue, I literally have no idea. But the examples you are showing are from big time camps with the other top players in the nation, places where it is a big deal to show out. Not an everyday practice.

Didn't Muschamp recruit and sign Gerald Willis?

Also, does this standard apply to WRs as well? Because if so, I expect Auburn to stop recruiting Nate Craig. There were reports from the Rivals camp that Craig acted disinterested when he wasn't getting the ball.

Nothing to do with work ethic and everything to do with butthurt that he is trying to get MD to come to Bama.

Kind of makes sense though. Marlon going to UA would absolutely fricking suck for Auburn.

I'm glad we aren't recruiting him anymore since he was never coming here, not glad we are trying to do it under the ruse of he doesn't fit "on or off the field".

I guess it is a good thing Marlon has already broken away from Mack to some degree since going back to Greenville. Mack and Ben Davis skipped Auburn's Big Cat Weekend for a visit to LSU instead. However, Marlon still came by himself. Marlon also came to Auburn's spring game over bammers even though his other two buddies decided to stay home.

I also think there is a good chance Marlon would choose his own brother who is still an administrative assistant at Auburn over Mack and I think most people who follow recruiting believe the same
