Auburn will likely start recruiting better. Doesn’t mean it will come at our expense. We haven’t been building these classes with majority Georgia players for a while.
Not taking up for Auburn, but DAMN they can't help but recruit better can they? Gus didn't recruit shite for olinemen for years, he pigeon-holed every WR he brought in with his stubborn passing schemes. He wouldn't allow a WR to ever shine on their own, and while he got a few RB's in his years he still managed to go a couple of yrs where he didn't field a 1,000 yr rusher. That shite's unheard of at a place with Auburn's history. Unacceptable!

Then Harsin refused to accept recruiting is paramount in the SEC. He didn't see the need to meet and shake hands with the region's biggest high school coaches. He built zero relationships with the top talent, some of which was less than an hour drive from the AU campus. Unacceptable!

Years of ignoring the oline, stuck in the mud offensive philosophy, stubborn head coaches made Bama, UGA, and even Clemson's recruiting the area a piece of cake. Because Auburn people weren't working tirelessly to recruit like they should've. Unacceptable!

Freeze knows how to recruit against the power programs, he has the hokey common touch and the "family" angle, and he knows how to ingratiate himself to the HS coaches and community. This alone will make recruiting waves for Auburn. It'll take time, but Freeze will build back up what Malzhan & Harsin destroyed.

17 or 18 of the 26 (depending on how you look at Raiola).

21 of the 26 last year.
16 of 30 the year before that.
10 of 20 year before that.
17 of 25 year before that.

Majority of the team is from OOS.

Just a copy paste from every time they’ve lost a recruiting battle

That quote does not say Alabama and/or Saban does anything better just the process is not for everyone. It has nothing to do with losing a recruiting battle for UA and let's remember the kid is currently committed to UGA not Alabama.

Saban has a system which is not what some recruits are looking for in college. Top tier recruits if they meet their expectations no matter where they commit to will get drafted. The program does not have to win a NC for that to happen for them.

The problem with Alabama system is that when a player(s) does not buy in once they get there, we see the results on the field which is what happened last year. There is no flexibility in the process which is not always a good thing.

In the end it seems Freeze presented a situation the kid liked for the next 3 or 4 years.

It definitely implies it.

Especially the part where it says “he doesn’t care about winning”

Saban chauffeured this kid in his personal Benz to the A Day game.

Bama fans need to stop acting like this was some kid Bama didn’t want. Saban wanted him. Bad.

I believe you get him too. Just a feeling he's been $wayed in your favor for a while now.

I do think Perry is likely being offered a pretty handsome NIL deal - its a huge position of need, particularly now that Coleman chose TAMU, and then of course the fan support/goodwill it will get Hugh flipping a Bama guy. But thats the name of the game now, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with loading up on guys that you really need in a class, and everyone is doing it, and to think otherwise is asinine.

Nice take 41

Auburn fans if nothing else have been humbled over the last few years. We are hopeful and excited by the new staff headed by Freeze. Hopefully today is just a beginning and I have no reason to believe otherwise.

Agreed - you got to back up the Brinks truck for the one's that will make a huge splash. Make waves while you've got the momentum and carry it into the season where you show 'em on-the-field that they are a needed addition to the roster.

That should have been a hint imo, bc the ones that he really wants now get driven in Saban's Ferrai.

Some things have come to the surface on DR since the spring. I wont mention most of it but Thompson HS tried to get him to transfer a year ago and he didnt want the upgrade in competition. Something to think about
