Good for the kid. Good for LSU to offer a home state kid also.

He's good at run blocking.... that's all LSU does. He fits their system.

Nice subtle troll. Get that shite out of here.

We are pumped. He needs work, but that's how you build solid depth on the oline. Him Campbell and savage. Still fighting for Williams and price

Technically, he's a 4* w/ a ton of offers. After the camps, several staffs were less than impressed, and I doubt all those early offers are still firm.

Congrats LSU

I'm a big fan of Allen... Benito Jones doesn't become a composite 5* without getting matched up against Willie at UA All American most of the week.

This #1 LSU class is over-hyped and a bias is given to over-rank Louisiana talent. Doing Less with Les sure looks like will continue.

Since when does LSU take on projects?

If all he has done is run block though he will probably be a good fit for LSU. Size might be an issue at guard if he is really 6'8".

I don't buy into the notion of significant bias at rivals, but dang that's a terrible time to drop a recruit if you're trying to maintain your legitimacy.

Literally every single recruiting site, all 4 of them, dropped Allen. Stop with this Rivals bias bullshite.

Yeah, I'm not sure it's trolling if it's true. Congrats to LSU and Allen. He's a good athlete and I think he can be a pretty good OG and a pretty good OT with a lot of work but I can't remember the last time a kid dropped like this in the rankings. Maybe Antwon Dixon from like 2007 who opened up as a 4* top 10 WR but ended up around 80th-90th on Scout.

This. Studs' downfall was not bringing in enough depth on the line. We usually had a solid starting group, but always had to shuffle guys around, and took at real hit whenever anyone went down. Grimes has built up the strongest base of O Line talent that we've had since 03-07. Next year will be the first year in a while that the best players will be all able to play their natural positions, instead of having to move to fill a need.

Now that the depth is in place, it's ok to take on a couple of project guys. Even if they don't contribute until year 3 or 4, as long as 1 out of every 2 of these guys plays a role at some point, they are worth the scholarship.

Not of that guy. He might be decent by his JR year with major improvement.
