From the moment the kid decided to visit A&M all the sip boards have been bashing him and acting like he wasn't that important. This is after raving about him for months. I'm sure the kid heard about it over and over, especially because he is from Buda which is Suburban Austin and wanted to set the record straight that he not only still had a commitable offer from Texas but Strong and Wickline very much wanted him in the fold.

I mean the kid has offers from OU, Miami, and Florida State with a ton of others showing interest. He's a highly athletic 6'5, 285 that is going to easily be 310 which is exactly the same profile that Joekel and Matthews had and he can play all 5 positions just as they could. No telling what he becomes of course but the kid has talent.

The "sip boards" ? I'm talking about the coaches. They simply were not that high on the kid and he got his feeling hurt because they had not yet contacted him. He may turn out to be great, but he committed to Mack, not UT. Its better that he is no longer in consideration - Strong doesn't want players who aren't totally committed to the cause. He is very much replaceable. Jesus, there are 11 months to go.

Self ban bet on who will have the better class in 11 months?

Its just that he didn't want to put up with the expectations from the general. I mean did you see those rules he put on his players?

I think you could be right and if so, he doesn't belong at UT. At A&M he can live in an apartment and have his own stash. Sumlin might want to adopt a few of Stong's rules in order to get control of the drug problem at A&M.

Mack had a lot of classes who were highly ranked who at the end of 4 or 5 years were not so hot. We won't know who has the better class in 11 months.

True, but at the end of 11 months would you want to trade the texas class for A&M's?

I have little doubt that A&M will have a higher ranked class for 2015, if that's what your getting at.

Not understanding this. Why would I need another handle? This one works fine.

Nice pick up.

Only issue I'd worry about. Mack's evaluations in the recent past have been garbage... Here's to hoping he was wrong about this kid.

Coaches are often wrong.
Stoops and Golden: neither has had a top ten recruiting class in the last two cycles(2014 and 2013).

Fisher had this guy named Winston who just happened to win the Heisman. Its like blocking for JFF, he'll put you in the right position.

You said you'd worry about a kid who would commit to Mack, which is stupid, and now you are brushing off the fact that he also had offers from multiple other major programs because "coaches can be wrong"?

I would worry about a kid committed to Mack. We all watched that program unravel before our eyes and most of that was on the talent evaluation side bro.
And yes I am brushing that off, I am not going to say "oh this kid is great because he's got offers from blah blah and blah", that's just silly. And I know you do that i remember you talking about a Texas recruit with a ACU offer and downplaying his talent. If I remember correctly the summer heading into his senior year of HS Honey Badger has pretty poor offers. He turned out to be one of the best corners in our schools history (DBU)

BTW You dont have to insult my intelligence because our opinions differ. (not that I care seeing that you insult anyone who disagrees)
