UK's Barry Rohrssen was reason for Detrick Mostella (#44/#85) Pitt commitment. Expecting an UT announcement soon

Would be massive.

I've thrown it up on our board as well.

Between the Mostella smoke and Tyndall and his staff saying "I think we may surprise some people" over and over, I'm getting optimistic that we may well end up with a better class than we started with.

lol.

Donnie steps in, cleans house, finishes with a better class.

It's unreal how bad Cuonzo was at aquiring talent.

Well we gotta wait and see but that scenario is starting to look pretty plausible.

Cuonzo stuck with his guys whereas Tyndall hired an experienced recruiter. I'm also not sure Zo had the energy/tolerance for the recruiting game that Tyndall does but unless you're at UK or a few other schools that recruit themselves on name recognition/history alone before the recruit ever receives an offer, you've got to find it to succeed.

What I don't understand is that if you can get a recruit on campus, our facilities are mindblowing compared to many other places, yet Zo left several OVs on the table.

Bossi said Ok. State fully expected him to sign with them but Tyndall snuck in and got him. Signed with VOLS yesterday. Tyndall has now signed 1/2 as many top 100 players as Cuonzo did in 3 years.

For those keeping score, Donnie Tyndall in less than 2 weeks with #Vols has signed two Top247 prospects and one JUCO All-American.

House, one of Houston’s best players the past two seasons and a conference freshman of the year in 2013, has been granted a conditional release from the Cougars after a recent coaching change and has several programs — including Tennessee and SEC rival South Carolina — on his list. House is scheduled to visit the Gamecocks this week, but Tennessee also believes it has a chance to stay in this fight. And this is a fight worth fighting. House was a five-star prospect just two years ago and ranked top-25 nationally by just about every major network.

Would he have to sit out a year?

I believe he is applying for a waiver to play right away but isn't expected to get it.

5/9 Update. 5 Schollys left.

1 will likely go to PF/C Tariq Owens who has Tennessee way out in front.

1 will go to PF Phil Cofer or PF Willie Carmichael. Carmichael will only get offer if Cofer chooses FSU or VT. Cofer visiting Tennessee next week.

1 will go to PG Darius Thompson, who Tyndall and his entire staff will meet with next week at his home as they did with Hubbs. If he decides to go elsewhere, it will go to JUCO PG Rashem Suarez (former USM signee).

1 will go to a transfer/5th year player. There are plenty still on our board and we are trying to get involved with others.

1 will likely be left open for JUCO PF Octavius Ellis, who is an academic unknown.

Tyndall has been very impressive, I'm super excited to see what he can do with a full year to recruit.

He is definitely recruiting/trying to recruit at a much higher level than Cuonzo did.

Chiles visit is back on. We definitely need one of Chiles/Thompson imo to go along with Suarez. If we somehow got both we would not need Suarez, but we do need two guys who can play the point.

Get that done along with Owens, Cofer/Carmichael and Ellis and we are in good shape.

I updated the OP with the updated projected board.

Cofer to FSU which means Carmichael is likely a take. Would prefer Cofer, but Owens/Carmichael/Suarez/Thompson or Chiles/Ellis would still be a very solid close.

You're aware Ellis just committed to Cincinnati, right?

@TheRecruitScoop: JUCO PG Rasham Suarez has decided to remain committed to Southern Miss & play for Doc Sadler instead of going to Tennessee, a source said.

Just saw that. Sounds like coaches are confident in getting Thompson back. Would like to add Chiles too. He will be here this week.

Chiles in today and Owens on Thursday. Chiles sister was an AA in softball at Tennessee.

Lewis thinks Tennessee adds Chiles, Owens and Carmichael. Last scholarship could be carried over if they can't re-recruit Thompson.
