That leaves you with a likely rotation of

1: Chiles, Mostella
2: Hubbs, Punter
3: Richardson, Punter
4: Moore, Reese
5: McKnight, Owens

Carmichael and McGhee as projects although McGhee can probably give you rotation minutes as an energy guy.

Would be crucial to add a good PG in the fall, but that team is probably middle of the pack in the league.

Chiles, Hubbs, Richardson, Mostella, Punter, Moore is a very good group of guards.

That's a lot of guards just like Bama. Is McKnight expected to do much?

He was the starting center for FGCU going in to last year. Only ended up playing about 20 MPG though after he got suspended. He is very athletic, good rebounder, shot blocker. Finishes almost everything with a dunk.

Knocks are he fouls too much and doesn't have a back to the basket game. Fits in very well if we are going to play mostly in transition though.

I think the team will probably struggle in that half court, but be very good in transition. It will be very interesting to see how all these guards play together. All of them are scoring guards except Moore who is a defender/rebounder/passer. Richardson can defend and rebound too obviously but he was arguably our best offensive player in the tourney.

Hubbs was pretty much a volume scorer coming out of HS. Chiles and Mostella are high level scorers who will be forced to play the 1. Punter is a good 6th man, but he is not really regarded as a 2 way player either.

I think it will be very fun to watch since they'll be so wide open. Not sure how the team fits together, but there is enough talent to win if they mesh.

Bama? Never heard us mentioned with him plus we don't have a scholarship unless someone's leaving.

Yeah. I hadn't heard Bama with him either. That's what he told Frederickson though.

Also this update

Chiles will stay on campus tonight, finish his visit tomorrow and then announce his decision. Says he will announce from UT, Auburn, Maryland.

I take it you guys feel pretty good about Chiles. Just reading the tea leaves I think we have conceded him to UT and moved on. We brought in TJ Lang for an unofficial yesterday and he will be back this weekend for an official. He said he isn't planning on taking any more OV after Auburn and will announce his final decision most likely next week.

ETA: We only have 1 spot currently available and have been saving it for Chiles or TJ Dunans if he could graduate JC this summer and be reclassified as a 2014 recruit.

Seems like we feel pretty good. We are going to have A LOT of depth at the 2-4 positions and virtually none at the 1 or 5. Somebody of that group is going to have to start at the 1 and that is seemingly what we are selling Chiles on.

In other news we signed a 6'5 JUCO guard this morning. Also looks like we're about to cut Pops N'Diaye which will leave us with 4 spots again.

Yep. Kid is a good player. He had 15 20+ point games last year despite sitting out ten games due to injury.

Shot over 40% from 3pt range as a freshman.

We definitely won't have any problems scoring from the guard position. Tyndall said last night that the likely starting lineup would be

1 Chiles
2 Hubbs
3 Richardson
4 Moore
5 McKnight

Didn't mention Chiles by name but said "a 5th year guy we feel good about". That isn't even close to Mississippi State bad. Obviously we need to do well in the fall signing period (especially at PG), but if we do that I feel very confident moving forward.

This is a better roster than what Cuonzo had coming back.

This much is indisputable.

No one will say that we're where we need to be, but it's a damn good start.

Sounds like Carmichael is announcing for Tennessee tonight. Owens visiting Thursday and will announce between Tennessee and Temple.

Rob Lewis says there could be another high level 5th year guy as well. If Tennessee can get involved there it would likely be the end of the line for Pops.

Carmichael signs with Tennessee.

If Tariq Owens picks Tennessee over Temple that would put Tennessee at 13 scholarships. Only way we can take somebody else is if Pops gets processed.

This has been a wild couple weeks though.

Saw where Jacobs finally got the boot for good. I assume that wasn't much of a surprise given he hadn't been with the team for months. Any possible replacements? Who's going to get the minutes down low for Bama?
