When you ask a question that leaves yourself this wide open, don't criticize the responses.

But what's the reason for the hate? Are you still rustled about the college game? The 180k?

Unlike some of my brethren, I don't dislike Cam. But I could see how some do. Last year he sits on the sideline, towel over head feeling sorry for himself. This year, he has played lights out and lets his personality show. He just needs to be consistent... take the good and bad and be the same. I do worry that his antics is going to piss the opposing teams players off and somebody is going to take his knee out. Can't show up other professionals like that for very long without getting it broke off in you.

He really shouldn't criticize the answers. He should recognize most of the people who didn't like Cam as the hypocrites or racists they are

People who act like Cam invented celebrating in the NFL are also idiots. I grew up watching players like Deon Sanders showboat and celebrate more than Cam. Nobody ever took his knee out

Most of it still revolves around the fact that Cam's story at Auburn came out in a time where the media was adjusting to the shift in a paradigm. That story would never be handled the way it was then, today. Most people wouldn't have the ignorant opinions of Cam otherwise.

What we know about Cam...

1) He is immensely gifted. He has more raw physical talent than the NFL has ever seen at the QB position.

2) From the moment he entered the league he has given defenses problems. All the talk about him just now figuring things out is crazy. He was rookie of the year, has been a Pro bowler, etc...Carolina aka Shula miss used Cam's talent for much of his first few years. It was only last season when things were going bad and jobs were on the line that Shula unleashed Cam. The results are obvious.

3) Cam isn't perfect but seems to be pretty genuine toward people, especially children. At Auburn his teammates loved him, outside of a few divas who left Carolina the same is true. He has given of himself to the community both in Auburn and at Carolina. I love that when he started getting credit for giving the balls to kids after doing it without fanfare for some time he and the team decided to let everyone give the balls out to take the spotlight off him.

4) He is confident and exuberant. Show me a champion that isn't confident. Show me a single example of his exuberance crossing the line of what is accepted throughout the NFL.

5) He can't win...Peyton Manning says something about credit going to his Defense and people applaud him likely because he looks like Opie. Cam gives credit to his team and it is fake and staged likely because he doesn't look like Opie.

Yes, it would or be worse.

Truth. I didn't even have to open the thread to know what the responses would be

Nothing wrong with having your personality. Plenty of players do. But when you cross the line by taking pics with fans WHILE the game is going on, etc., other players are going to take exception to that. Celebrate... but you better be respectful. If not... you're gonna get got at a certain point.

It is almost like bammers saying they don't like Cam because he was paid when your most recent heisman winner posted a picture of a 40 thousand dollar Dodge Charger on his own Twitter account last year. That really is funny

Because these two things are not true unless you're an Auburn or Carolina fan.

He's an arse and he just had a good year and everyone wants to treat him like he's the second coming of Peyton or Brady. He's not likeable and he's certainly not great yet. How about let him string together a couple years of this caliber before everyone start swinging from his fun bags.

He isn't an arse. He is just being him. Going too far with his personality, celebrations, etc., ... that's debatable.Agree that he needs to string some good years together and bring the big one home but let's not act like he isn't a really good QB. He is.

Cam Newton's "persona" is probably the smartest thing he's doing right now if your asking me

can you say "endorsements"? Cause no one want Joe Flacco's dour arse selling you some yogurt
