they did some renovations to it recently, but the pictures with the mountains really look cool
Very nice.
Personally, I don't care. I don't need a fancy stadium. I left my seat twice to pee. I didn't drink or eat anything. I wasn't missing a second of that game. I thought it was gonna be the only opportunity I ever had to witness Bama in the NC game.
My buddy left to get a beer or food every two seconds. He missed Marcel's interception return for a TD before half and I think Trent's run. He was an idiot.
The trees growing over the stadium top and creeping in are pretty cool too.

the Rose Bowl is the best place to watch a football game in this country.
...and you're close to the beaches, Westwood is cool...downtown is upgraded nicely near Staples Center...
Best thing about the Rose Bowl is the sunset in the 4th quarter - when they play the actual Rose Bowl and start the game at 1:30pm...
Natty Game will obviously start at night...so, it's not the same experience.

West Coast game so the game may be able to start before sunset. Watching the sun set during the game is one of the best parts of the experience.

Look how beautiful that setting is.
In my perfect world, the Rose Bowl would just be the national championship game every year. Gorgeous setting, great location, and it is the longest tradition in college football.
Rotate the semifinals amongst the other big bowls, and have the national title game at the Rose Bowl every year.

Sun sets at 5pm in Los Angeles in January.
And even if it did set at the start of the game, not the same experience as starting with the full day sun...and then the sun closes the game with the long sunset in the 4th quarter.

As a Tiger fan who used to live there, do not throw beads and yell "show your tits" during the Rose Bowl parade. The locals don't get it. And forget about trying to find any Popeyes Fried chicken.

Also plenty of face value tickets can be found outside the stadium.
This is what I'm hoping for.
Also a shameless plug for Orange County and Newport Beach.
Don't forget as you're booking your trips, There's a lot of hotels in Orange County.
Irvine,Anaheim,Costa Mesa,Newport Beach,etc.
About 45 minutes away from Pasadena.

My son is going to school in LA so the wife and I have gone couple times. The Gridle Cafe on Sunset is a must for breakfast one day. You'll have to wait probably but worth it. Plenty of great places to eat. Drive up the pacific coast Hwy to Malibu and beyond is also awesome.
