Yeah, the delta has a long, long way to go. I think the best thing to do would be to invest in a few communities to provide anchor cities for further development in the delta.

This thread is about Fayetteville and NWA. The elk are in NWA--not the metro area, obviously.

It's a good town, check it out sometime.

I give you Texans a lot of shite but if I wasn't embedded already I would highly consider moving to Dallas. My analyst friends in the area are predicting a 12 million metro population by 2050. Their numbers are wild but damn if it doesn't have legit backing.

Nothing in the southeast will come close including Dallas' logistical advantage, a lot will be popping in Texas in 35 years.

P.s. My lady is a recruiter for Google. She hires a lot of you fricking Aggie engineers. You'd be surprised though, Arkansas, LSU and Alabama all have around 300 each in the Google system while the Aggies have 981. Looked at them yesterday.

NWA? Of course. Tech, engineering, car manufzcotes, aerospace, and steel have transformed Alabama's economy in the past decade. Similar investments in Arkansas will do the same. If they're in areas that have potential.

Correct.

The investment money going into the Delta is Higher Education, Tourism, and Research Labs.

They are rebuilding the Civil War battle and transforming the southern homes for Tourism in Helena, Ark while adding Higher Education and research labs to correlate with Memphis. Plus, they are putting money into the Mississippi county across the river to build a starting point.

I believe it's a good move considering the Helena Bridge will take Oxford, Mississippi directly to I-40 without ever entering Tennessee. If the Walton's cannot educate the Delta then I saw we burn it with fire.

Correct.

The Foundation discussed how giving money to the entire Delta region provided nothing over the past few years. Therefore, they honed in on Helena, Ark for it's rich history and proximity to Memphis with a direct river crossing into Mississippi and attachment to I-40.

I don't fault their business plan.

5 hours to KC, St. Louis, Dallas, and Memphis. 3 hour drive to OKC, 1 1/2 hours to Tulsa. Not all that hard to reach. How many big markets are that far from ole miss, miss st, bama, and auburn?

5 hours is a pretty damn far drive to get to any major metro area. NWA truly is in the middle of nothing. For example Tuscaloosa is 45 min to Birmingham, 2hr 45 min to Atlanta, 3.5 hr to Nashville and Memphis, and 4hrs to New Orleans and the Gulf Shores beaches. Tuscaloosa has a recruiting territory of over 20 million people living within a 3.5 hour drive.

You are still Arkansas and you are still irrelevant. No one in the world knows or cares about your school or state.

I'm not sure where the picture was taken. But I do know our elk and black bear population has increased a lot. I used to see a lot of black bear even as far back as 25 years ago, mostly in the Ouachita Mountains.

I have a ouchita boat.

Let me ask you this...

How much is 1000 acres of soybean land worth on the White river?

Don't forget our resurgent alligator population. Yes, alligators are native to Arkansas. The French almost wiped them out from 1840 to 1960 because of their leather.

Good ole Louisiana even gave us 3500 in the 1980's to help counter the slaughter.

The wealthiest family in the United States certainly does. You can donate to NWA or Helena if you'd like too.

That family's Foundation is single handily building Northwest Arkansas with other F350 companies piggybacking and investing.

Forbes would also disagree with you about our school.

I don't know but I guess that would depend on exactly where it is located. I do know a farmer in that area I can (and will) ask but you can probably find a lot of info online as well. I would guess ~1 million and up, but I'm guessing. Are you looking to buy some land, or just curious?
