Not gonna lie both WV and TCU have had a lot of success. However, Mizzou and Texas A&M have more potential. A&M in specifically has not used it wisely in the last decade or so. The facilities, the money, the fan base, the atmosphere. Everything is there for it to be a good program, it just hasn't molded all of it together.
I think West Virginia and TCU will struggle in the Big 12. TCU will eventually become a player in the conference due to recruiting in a BCS conference, and being based in the state of Texas

Nope. #15 and #23 in the Orange Bowl. This isn't real football, you're from Texas, you should know that.

Living in Texas I throw up in my mouth everytime I walk into a sporting goods store and see aTm-SEC apparel.

Let us know about that after they've played a couple of years in the weakened "bevo & the little 9" conference. Your dysfunctional cesspool of a conference, which you all destroyed, has taken an irreparable hit, and will never be a premier conference again. So suck on that while A&M and Mizzou join the best conference in the nation.

Mizzou>Texas..... still talkin football right?

Do A&M and Mizzou fans actually believe this? Love both schools joining the SEC but the Big 12 is still going to be one of the Big 4 conferences when all is said and done.
WVU and TCU are going to fit in nicely and you still have Texas and OU to go along with an OSU program that is finally taking football serious.

Nah, I'm not nearly arrogant enough to think this just because A&M and MU are leaving for the SEC. But when you lose 3 flagship schools and one the quality of A&M, all of which are AAU schools, in just over a year and replace them with WVU and TCU, I think that's a big step down. (Well Nebraska was AAU when they left.)
They're dropping from 12 teams to 10 and eliminating a CCG (which is what bevo wants). And as long as the lhn exists, and now with OU establishing their relationship with Fox, there will never be a big 12 network; eventually, I think the SEC and probably the ACC will have their own conference networks. That just contributes further to the inequality that exists in the big 12.
Bottom line, I'll be surprised if the big 12 still exists in a few years. At least as a conference with any strength. If the big 12 continues on their path, the top 4 conferences will be the SEC, Big 10, Pac 12 and ACC. IMHO.

Whatever sip....everyone that doesn't wear burnt orange glassed knows the Big 12 is a conference that is being held together by shoe-strings. The only teams left are ones that have no place to go. And of course t.u. will not leave because they will have to leave their beloved sipnetwork behind. I LOVE the fact we playing in the conference of Champions. The BEST football conference in America!!!

The Big12 was good this year and will be good next year. That conference won't die and is a top 3 conference.

SunHog....really depends on how much the sips push the sipnetwork on the rest of the conference....like I said though t.u. has the rest of those teams by the balls...they have no place to go.

Yes, football was good this year, and will be next year, just not as good as the SEC. And I realize the OP was referencing football only. But they're losing ground in every other area, which affects the overall strength and status of the conference.
One of the many things I love about the SEC is that they understand a conference is made strong by strengthening every member of the conference. That's not the case in the big 12. After reading the interviews with MU and A&M brass about what lead up to the realignment, I think the big 12 is on very shaky ground. I don't think MU would have left if it were stable.

The only schools that can kill the Big 12 now are OU and OSU....will they leave t.u. behind and who takes them now...they are a package deal. The other schools will take a beating from t.u. and say thank you so they don't end up in a low tier conference. HUGE mess...just glad my Ags are out of it and in the best conference in America!!!
