You asked why someone would take Manziel over Bridgewater. Is that not what we're discussing anymore?

No, that's fair I just don't think it's a valid argument to bring stats into.

there are a number of teams who need RBs right now. I don't understand his line of thinking here.

RB's don't go early anymore. Especially now thanks to Trent Richardson.

Hate to break it to anyone but Clowney is going #1 overall. Any QB is a risk this draft and you can easily get one with 2nd pick with just as high a likelihood to succeed as Johnny, Bridgewater, Bortles, etc.

BTW, after watching Bortles up close and personal, I think he is the most overrated of the bunch. Tenancy to throw picks and he leaned on a stud RB this year.

Why do people think Bridgewater will bust?

I don't get it.

And Kiper is literally one of 2 of the biggest faces for ESPN regarding the NFL Draft. There are several analysts saying Manziel is the best as well as several saying Bridgewater is the best.

Doesn't mean much. The other big face is a laughing stock in the NFL. (Todd Mcshay)

I don't know if he will bust but I think he is more of an unknown than Manziel due to competition. Louisville reminds me of TCU years ago getting up for one big game a year.

So analysts supporting your opinion are right and those that disagree are laughing stocks. Sweet dude.

Louisville has played some decent teams while Bridgewater has been there.

I hope the Texans get Manziel, and I don't think they'll be able to get him if they move out of the top 5. I am nearly certain Manziel will not drop out of the top 5.

Johnny has a decent arm, great-to-elite accuracy, great poise, great instincts, great speed, elite elusiveness, decent vision, elite work ethic, and elite mental toughness. I think he'll prove to be the best QB in this draft.

And he still has a lot of room to improve. He's nowhere near his ceiling. The only real worry about him is size and the ability to stay healthy.

If Clowney doesn't destroy the combine, he may not go first round. He has that Albert Haynesworth vibe.

No it has nothing to do with Mcshay's opinion on Manziel. It has to do with his reputation in the NFL. As I said, he gets laughed at.

If you can't see how mentally tough that kid is, then you're blind or stupid. The whole world exploded around him this August, partly due to his own childish mistakes, but mostly due to sensationalism. Everyone rantard on this board predicted that he would implode, both because "now the SEC coaches have a year of film on him" and because "he's going to have a meltdown during a game! He's out of control!"

All he did was focus on football and have another incredible year...a year surpassed in the history of the SEC only by his own performance last year. He plays his best in big games. Hell, yes, the kid is mentally tough.

Ok I misunderstood what you meant by mental toughness. I thought you meant on the field which is obviously false.

I did mean on the field. Why the hell would you say that Manziel is not mentally tough on the field? The guy is a rock. He never gets rattled. He never quits. He talks shite, but so what? Lots of players talk shite. That's no indication of a lack of mental toughness. Mentally weak players quit, and start fighting with their teammates, and get scared at the critical moment. Manziel is the opposite of that, in every regard.
