Things aren't looking too hot for Ryan, The Sanchize, & Tebow and Ryan may be fired or open to other opportunities. I think he would be a High Risk/High Reward type hire. He has a solid college background and would have no problem recruiting anywhere in the country

He'd be perfect for Auburn who needs a coach with the ego to compete with Saban for the State of Alabama. Our current recruiting class, while being held together by shoe strings and tape, is top ten, defense heavy, and would be solidified with a hire like Ryan. We have a talented roster that has not been developed. With the right OC, he could probably make Saban's arse quit

What about UGA, Tennessee, et al,would you throw the bank at him? Don't know if Arky or Kentucky have the clout to pull off this type of hire but stranger things have happened

He's a "feet on the ground" type of coach.

No

Not for my school and can't see him being successful at any other SEC school

I could see him being a very good recruiter, buy drama and chaos follow him around, it seems.

Who cares about drama? As far as I know he had no NCAA issues, seems pretty happy with the wife so there would be no volleyball players popping up, and he's been successful at both levels, what more could you want from a head coach?

Maybe in new york, but if he comes down south with all these girls wearing thong sandles...I'm not sure he can resist the temptation.

Rex Ryan has had a tough year, but I don't think he'll be fired. The Jets are 'underperforming' but they are only 3-4, not that bad--yet. That said I wouldn't want Rex Ryan near my school. He's a great coach, don't get me wrong, but his style seems to work with the NFL and I'm not sure it would be as effective at the college level. If he gets fired this season he'll have plenty of opportunities elsewhere in the NFL

We don't need a coach who can compete with Saban's ego, we need a coach who can compete with him on the field. Plus, I don't understand what you mean by Saban's "ego." Saban isn't a "look at me" kind of guy. Ryan definitely is. The two don't have similar personalities at all.

What am I saying? I belong to UF now. Muschamp could hire him and give him Weiss's old office. I'm sure he'd fit.

He would guarentee an SEC championship and National Championship every year and fall short every year

What I mean by, "a coach with ego to compete with Saban for the State of Alabama" is someone that is not intimidated to go against the top coach in the country within the same state 365 days of the year. Kinda like Rex's attitude towards Belichick and Brady, as good as they are he believes he's better and has actually proved it on the field

Says the Alabama fan.

If he's able to maintain some discipline within the program, he could field consistent NC teams
