So far Kelly has been a choir boy during his Ole Miss tenure, so all of the troll replies about him getting kicked off the team are kind of worthless at this point.

Pros:

Big arm
Running ability at least equal to Dr. Bro
He's motivated bc he legitimately can be a NFL prospect if he succeeds @ OM

Cons:

Trusts arm too much and will likely throw a fair amount of INTs
Not a lock to beat out Ryan Buchanan to start
Doesn't know the playbook as well as Buchanan and may not have the same level of continuity with support players

That sounds pretty ghey...even for an Ole Miss fan.

I won't be shocked if he's serviceable. I will, however, be shocked if he's good in year 1. It's a pretty big learning curve from Juco to the SEC, and Kelly has never taken a snap at the division 1 level. I don't think anyone thinks he doesn't have the physical skills to be good. He does, however have a lot to prove mentally as well as adjusting to much tougher competition.

Not at all, and I wouldn't be shocked if he stomped Freeze before season's end either. Good luck with that.

Does not compute

Buchanan has been in the system for 2+ years and has the trust of the teammates and coaches. He is a game manager type with decent athletic ability and a solid arm. Buchanan is a talented player, he's not exactly a 2-star scrub.

Ole Miss also has a loaded defense, so the gunslinger option (Kelly) may not be best suited to win games this year.

Kelly has physical attributes to be a NFL QB prospect, ie draftable. I didn't say he's a NFL QB (yet).

I wouldn't be shocked but I'd think he overcame my expectations. Kid seems to be an emotional head case.

I mean, just by the raw facts, he was a 4 star HS recruit and then a 3 star JUCO recruit. I don't know why he should be expected to play any better or worse than the two 4 star QB recruits that have been on the team for 3 years.

I'm not going to be shocked if he's good, but will be if he's great. Because right now he's just a mediocre talent who caught a lot of media attention for bad reasons.

I'll be shocked if we don't get a sick rhyme out of him this year.

Dr. Bo went the exact same route and seemed to do just fine against your secondary in 2012.

That's not at all what I meant - the reports say he doesn't go out, at all.

He basically goes to class, practice, goes home. He had a 4.0 GPA during Spring
