As long as they take Alabama with them. There is really no reason for either team to be in the West. Their next biggest rival are in the East.

So just move Alabama and Auburn to the east and let LSU get the easy path to the SECCG every year?

All this while the east has Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida. Makes perfect fricking sense.

It just helps us start our own conference in the future

I'm all for it then. Maybe we won't add a school that has a fan base who are perpetual whiners.

If Auburn moves to the east then Bama will be their yearly SEC West game. Bama will be forced to give up their Tenneesse cross division game.

Alabama was scared to play in Auburn, they constantly cried and stomped their feet like a five year old child about it.

Until 1970, your place only held about 44,000 people, and only 62,000 after that. Why in the hell would anybody want to play in a cracker box like that when you could play in front of 72,000 people every year on a neutral site? Also, the atmosphere was electric when you had a split crowd packed into the largest stadium in the state.

Won't happen. Mal Moore was on the record about this. Unless we go to 9 games, AU will fall in the normal rotation just like any other east team and Tennessee will be the permanent cross rival.

It would be like UGA demanding they move the Georgia-Florida game out of Jacksonville because it isn't a neutral site when in reality they are just looking for an edge because they are sick of losing. That was basically the reason behind the it.

The first Iron Bowl played at Auburn was in 1989. The debate had raged for several years through the 1980s.

Iron Bowl series, 1980-89: Auburn 6 wins, Alabama 4 wins

Try again.

Oh, and, if Georgia or Florida ever wanted to move the WLOCP to home and home sites instead of Jacksonville, I doubt very seriously that either school would be so fricking stupid and arrogant as to say...

Put it up for a vote. Alabama and Tennessee vote against it and the 12 other vote for it. If alabama and tennesee want to play, make it a non conference game. Could be played in Atlanta Labor day week-end every year its not a conference game.

it was up for vote prior to the latest expansion. I believe they needed 3/4 vote out of the 12 and were off by a vote

This thinking assumes all 12 other schools would be in favor of it.

The debate went on long before that....well it wasn't much of a debate. Auburn wanted it moved and Bryant, who was also the AD, said no.

Selective much?

Iron Bowl Series 1970-1979: Alabama 8 Auburn 2

If we win in Tuscaloosa this year and I expect we will, it will 7-2 since Saban got the ball rolling in 2008.

Now they are demanding to move to the East. Notice a pattern with these guys?

We have been wanting to go to the east for a while, so... I guess another one of your theories goes out the window

I only notice your pattern of delusions with Auburn

Alabama certainly had a lot of success back in the day. But there were no trophies awarded in that day. The first time a national title trophy was hoisted inside the state of Alabama was by Auburn in 1957.

Actually I believe it was just the 2nd in the SEC. Tennessee claimed the first one in 1951.

Not really. Just using the 10 year period which culminated in the move. Clearly, in the years leading up to the change, Auburn was kicking your asses. Well, I guess I shouldn't say "your" since you were undoubtedly not even born yet, being only 14 and counting years old. So, I'll just say Auburn was kicking Alabama's asses.

It was childish and petulant for Alabama to think it could dictate where AUBURN'S home games would be played. Auburn finally had enough of the titty baby's tantrums and said "no". It was long overdue.

Yes. They are establishing a pattern of standing up to the ridiculously childish arrogance of Alabama screwing up other teams' schedules (e.g. Auburn's traditional series with Tennessee and Florida) because they just can't part with their TSIO pacifier. Again, it's long overdue. Somebody should have put you spoiled rotten little brats across their knee a long time ago.
