Yes.

Would much rather play Florida and Tennessee again every year instead of teams like aTm and Arkansas.

Does anyone here with two functioning brain cells to rub together actually believe that this is the work of a program that would be happy for the rivalry to go away...the blabbering of barners on the rant notwithstanding?

Putting a sign up in a locker room is no real "shocker" Bama fan. That is nothing other than momentary inspiration.

Our engineers used to grease the rail-road tracks for Georgia Tech in the 1890's when we had John Heisman here...just to see how far their locamotive would make it down the tracks before they realized it and had to walk back for the game. Tricked them every time.

We don't need your history. Get over yourselves. We didn't need you then, and we certainly don't need you now.

A Kentucky fan in this conversation, really?

Auburn vs. Kentucky all-time:

Auburn owns the series at 26-6-1.

Please leave this conversation. The more exciting and challenging sport topic of football is being debated right now.

See your way back to Louisville or what ever location/capital your University calls itself home.

Now is not the time for your stupid game of nets.

Right...So I guess you'd have to allow a Vandy fan to sit at the table, right?
You're just a chicken shite Auburn fan who'd do anything to not have to play Alabama every year. Other Auburn fans don't feel that way. Suck it up, pussy.

Why weren't Auburn people begging out of the West in the past?

We should do whatever it takes to preserve the Iron Bowl.

The compelling part of our move to the East is that we have more history with the Tennessee's and Florida's of the SEC than we do with the western teams not named Bama. UGA has obvious importance.

I'm just pointing out that Auburn wasn't playing Spurrier's or Urban's Florida back then.

Auburn played Florida every year that Spurrier was there, twice in 2000. Pre-Spurrier, Florida wasn't what they became under him, but they were still a good team despite never (officially) winning an SEC title. They had some monster teams in the mid-80s, a couple of really good ones in the '70s and the Spurrier years (as QB) in the '60s.

If that were the case in no one even knowing what State Auburn was in...then that would be a HUGE victory for us. Ask every American in the U.S. what they think about having to live in Alabama right now. Not good

This sounds pretty weak and pathetic for you honestly.

Auburn might think they could live without the Bama game, but they would badly miss it every other year when they have these predictable bad years. The Iron Bowl has always been something for them to look forward to when they suck.

Don't act like that's a one-way street. I remember going to Tuscaloosa in 1997 when Alabama was having a bad season and seeing Alabama fans at the LSU game wearing T-shirts that said "Just beat Auburn".

Auburn's actually played Georgia AND Fla. more than they've played Alabama...Miss. St., too.

What an ignorant statement (not to mention your own fine university is in Alabama). Your combination of ignorance and arrogance in this thread is not a good look. Honestly you come across as the kind of fan you hate and you don't even realize it.

Right now, Auburn needs Alabama to visit every other year so AU can sell all of their football tickets

We want to play our traditional rivals more than once ever 6 years. I cant wait til we get rid of divisions and each team play 4 regular teams every year and rotate the rest of the conference. You could play every team in the conference every 4 years.

Auburn defines themselves by measuring up to Bama. It's been that way since the leather helmut days.

You do realize that Auburn had a winning record during the "leather helmut" days right?

UF was a pathetic team for the first 100 years of the program

bullshite. From 1950 on, Florida has one of the three or four best overall records in the SEC. They have had only seven losing seasons in that 66-year span. When Spurrier arrived, they hadn't had a losing season in 11 years. Currently, they've had one losing season in the last 36 years.

The big knock on Florida was that they didn't win any SEC championships until 1991, although they got screwed out of one in 1984 (won it then had it retroactively vacated), tied for one (with a team they beat) in 1985 but were ineligible and won one outright in 1990 but were again ineligible.

Florida wasn't the premier program in the SEC, but to call them "pathetic" shows a...well, pathetic lack of knowledge of SEC football history.

What is this crap about AU's "traditional rivalries" with Florida

We consider them a traditional rival. If the game was still played annually, I believe this would have been the 94th meeting. They are the closest SEC school to Gainesville, pretty sad this game is not played every season.

Do you honestly believe that the majority of the Auburn hierarchy wouldn't be receptive to the idea of having Alabama off their yearly schedule?

Wife is part of the "Auburn hierarchy" and this is in no way shape or form true.

Auburn loves the Iron Bowl. We just hate having to play the Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas schools now. Playing historically relevant schools is more exciting for a fan base than playing teams who have never sniffed a NC

If the argument is playing Alabama vs UF/UTk/UGA that is an extremely easy choice as ticket sales/excitement is greater for 3 games than any 1 game

So, you're a millenial, I assume. Anybody who has never heard of the rivalries between Auburn and those two teams was obviously not alive (or at least not aware of football) before 1992, or maybe even 2003. In fact, I'd say such a person is STILL not aware of football in any real historical sense.

you cried to make Bama come to Auburn..

Not really. Bear Bryant swore he would never play at Auburn. What a stupid and arrogant position to take with another SEC team. Or, if not stupid and arrogant, then...fearful? Insisting on playing your home games where you want to play them is not crying. It's just finally saying "no" to the spoiled little titty baby who constantly makes unreasonable demands.

I think we are all misunderstanding 14andcounting's user name. I, like many others no doubt, thought it was a reference to Alabama's national championships as of the time he registered his account at TD.com. Apparently, it refers to his age.
