Thursday games make it very difficult for teams traveling a long distance. Both teams already lose 2 practice days. We basically lost ANOTHER entire practice day due to traveling.
I included this in the "lack of complete team practice" reasoning which mainly is caused by the two weeks leading to that game in which most of our team missed multiple days of practice. When you miss a bunch of practice, you're conditioning is shot, timing is way off, etc. Recipe for an epic frick up.
And don't joke about the whole "Day game" excuse from you guys. I've heard that constantly all summer.

Swine Flu.
The Utah excuses are shite. If our team cant get excited and motivated for our first BCS game in almost ten years then there is something wrong. It was the fricking Sugar Bowl. That is a big time game, and if the reason was we couldnt get "up" for it, then I really hope things have changed for this year(it looks like they have). Utah straight up beat the shite out us, no excuse for that.

We played a 7 OT game on saturday. The game ended around 2 AM. We came back on Thursday and dominated.
"Playing on thursday" is a horrible excuse.
