Any excuse that uses the following, didn't care, caught sleeping, couldn't get up for the game, etc. is a terrible excuse.
Any of those excuses are solely the coaches fault. It's the coaches JOB to get you ready for the game.

to say that just about every 5* recruit lsu has lost out on didnt have a committable offer is a pretty bad excuse IMO
ETA: Not everyone on the recruiting board says this, but there are way too many that do

Even then...the momentum the program gained through the season should have counted for something. You go from the Indy bowl to the Sugar, that is something to get hyped about.
