Lets bring some facts into the conversation.

If you take the Median & Avg of the scoring defense rankings and points/g from Chief's time at LSU and LSU's results after him the Median & Avg of the scoring defense rankings has dropped by 109% & 126% while the points/g has dropped by 15% & 17%.

If you look at the same metrics from Synder at A&M to Chief at A&M then scoring defense Median & Avg improve by 56% & 49% while points/g has improved by 17% & 15%.

TL:DR, A&M has gotten better and LSU has gotten worse. Basically what everyone expected in general.

LSU dominated A&M until the 90s

Prior to 1990, the series was 25-15-3 in LSU's favor.

Someone actually downvoted your post.
I love LSU fans; they make messageboarding big fun.

Of course, they did. Did you see all those numbers? It's scary & confusing for them.

In 6 years, Chavis' defenses at LSU allowed fewer PPG than Aranda's defense at LSU once. That includes any qualifiers you want to use to try and spin it.

Which makes your closing statement look quite ignorant. Not all that surprising, considering the source though.

You're using 1 year as a window. Chavis has a 1-year window better. Come back to me when he repeats a top 12 D in 6 of 7 years.

You're using a two year window to try and prove LSU is worse. Come back when LSU is worse in 6 of 7 years.

One year is the entire data set under Aranda. Sorry you don't like your narrative being shite on.

Probably about the same as the verdict on Sumlin.

Actually your response--scholarly as it is--has little to nothing to do with the thread title.

Except we have Hawaii, Utah St, & Wisco of data on him. I think LSU did a shite job with Steele. They may have fixed the problem with Aranda, but I wouldn't base it off of one year and if you look back at more history it looks solid. He may be as good as Chief, he may not. In the end, A&M still got better which is kind of the goal when you hire a new coach.

I agree, thankfully he's gone.

So did LSU. Again, I'm sorry you don't like your narrative getting shite on.

Had you just said this I would have agreed. Instead, you got butthurt and tried to troll LSU.

Sumlin has 9 years' worth of data as a head coach and consistently underperforms when he doesn't inherit a top-tier quarterback (or even upper-tier in the case of Trevor Knight)

Case in point:

Houston
With Case Keenum at QB: 31-9
Without Case Keenum at QB: 4-7

Texas A&M
With Johnny Manziel at QB: 20-6
With Trevor Knight at QB: 8-3
Without Johnny Manziel or Trevor Knight: 16-12
