With such abysmal ratings, do you thing ESPN knights for an All-SEC BCSCG again?

I say no.

In fact, I would bet you see them lobby to make the BCS add a "conference winner only" stipulation.

Not bagging on Bama or LSU, or commenting on who deserved to be there, but it is what it is. . .and ESPN can't be happy about it.

Thoughts?

Oh, I agree. Moving the BCS to ESPN was absolutely retarded.

I don't care what they do.

I will however offer to pay them to not have Mussberger do any more games. I cannot stand listening to that guy.

Can not do conf champs because winning your conference doesn't mean you are the best or 2nd best team

No. I don't think it "is what it is." How many votes did ESPN have in the two polls? They were spot on with almost everything they said. I'd bet my life that OSU getting to play during Championship weekend swayed more votes than anything ESPN had to say.

It does when that said conference is the SEC.

Oh and from the looks of it, we will only have to deal with the current BCS set-up for 2012 and 2013 anyways

if you want the conspiracy theory on the situation that is already available... it is obviously to ESPN's potential advantage to have a BCS NCG that made people very unhappy (even at teh cost of bad ratings for a year) because they have the inside shot at televising a new scenario like a plus one or extended playoff

So in answer to the OP - yes, they could and perhaps do something to their short term disadvantage if that means an enormous payoff down the road

ANY playoff format, even a plus one, just makes it MORE likely to have another all-SEC BCSNCG again.

I think everyone outside SEC country is butthurt. The BCS is NOT broken and did exactly what it was designed to do.

I think it's stupid to change it. It's like getting mad when you stub your toe, so now you shoot it off. Kinda silly. But the "powers that be" in the other conferences have bitched enough and convinced America differently. So they will get what they asked for.

I dunno, they have people that have votes in the Harris, don't they?

And they have a HUGE influence over public opinion.

Depends on the teams, regardless of conference, ESPN/ABC will probably not be "up" on the idea of a BSCMNCG containing two teams who play not to lose instead of being aggressive and going for the win.

It's not about the BCS working, it's about ratings, and the ratings of EVERY BCS game (not just the title game) weren't very good this year, thus they change it up.

Right now it is but 10 yrs from now maybe it will be big 12. I mean can you imagine an undefeated big east going because they won their conf champ and were undefeated.

If this team was as good as those Miami teams of the past, yes.

Tie this to ESPN wanting an all SEC NC. And would you not agree that OSU getting to play a week after Alabama swayed votes even though it had NOTHING to do with the skill or deservedness of either team?
