saying this over and over again does not make it true. It did not happen.

He lost respect. Hard to get that back after losing it.

He lost respect and tainted his legacy. Hard to get that back after losing it.

If Florida wins the East because of this I doubt he cares.

See Joe Alleva statement today. That info came from ESPN rep (not from UF)and Alleva called him liar today. He said rescheduling to a different date was never on Fla's table of offers.

UF said they could not muster enough security to have the game and LSU offered to play in empty Swamp on Sat, Sun, or Mon...

Here is how Bama could get fricked in all this...

LSU wins out including a convincing win over Bama

One loss Bama to SECCG
One loss UF to SECCG

Playoff committee selects resurgent LSU over SEC Champion.

Fat chance in hell but possible. The Bama melt would be so bad Sankey would be fired immediately on the spot.

I don't know what it is about this that is so difficult for people...mostly LSU and UT fans to understand. If for no other reason, the SEC absolutely will not leave millions of TV dollars on the table due to an unplayed UF/LSU game. This game absolutely will be played, in the scenario that causes the least disruption to the conference. Imagine the TV payday by playing the first Saturday in December and pushing the SECCG game back a week, for example.

The SEC doesn't get payed on a per game basis with ESPN. They're not leaving any money on the table. ESPN could lose money from sponsors during the telecast, though

I'm not buying that for a minute. His legacy among whom? Gator fans? Please. Whose opinion do you think is more important to him? He's the best AD Florida ever had.

UNIV OF FLORIDA

Well, UF didn't literally "lose" per se under the current scenario--unless they are somehow later forced to forfeit, which I'm pretty sure won't happen...any way, just in case, obligatory:

I disagree on Foley. Foley put his foot down. They were asked to give up a home game in favor of playing on the road against LSU 3 consecutive years. He said frick that and frick the court of public opinion. Balls of steel. Good for UF.

Peddle that bullshite elsewhere.

They could have played at BHG on Sunday.

So you've seen the language in the contract that talks about what happens in the event a marquee game gets canceled? Or an additional game is added in December?

USCe are the losers in all this. I bet ya they wish they didn't travel to BR last year now that they had a choice to just cancel

Nope. But if there is additional money to be made, you can be certain that the conference will profit.

That scenario will not happen. Playoff selection day is the day following the SECCG and immediately following that is the Bowl selections. The entire CFB world is not going to reschedule everything because the SEC cant manage their business...

Good point. Add UF fans to the loser category. Happy to tuck tail and avoid a loss rather than demand their team play a game that was supposed to be played. Definitely a bunch of losers.
