Got some new pictures.

First the Farmer's Market parking area right next to the stadium has been outfitted with grass, finally.

Looks a lot nicer:

Before: (in between S Stadium Road and National Guard RD is the Farmer's Market

The scoreboard renovation is also coming along very nicely:

And a before and after rendering, for those that haven't seen.

Just thought I'd share what's been going on, for those that care.

Looks awesome IMO... Very similar to what we've done with the Junction @ State...

What is the building being renovated in the first picture?

Looks great. Thanks for sharing. You will love the large video boards. We've had ours a couple of seasons and it's just awesome.

It's a brand new building - a pavilion with bathrooms for the tailgating at the Farmers' Market.

Pissed me off. I wanted to get a spot in there really bad, but couldn't get one. I've been a full scholarship donor for 10 years, yet am too far down the priority line.

Yeah and judging by SC boards there are people "further up the line" but still couldn't get in there. With that said I guess thats the price to pay to have top notch facilities. And given the already high demand for those spots it seems like the school could make a decent amount of $ from that.

After all I don't think it makes any money from the fairgrounds parking and I'm certain it doesn't get any from all the local business parking.

So, random bump...I read on Gamecocksonline a while back that they want to plant Scarlet Oaks all over the new farmer's market area where the trees will bloom Garnet leaves. Is that cool or what?? Williams-Brice and the surrounding area could definitely use more garnet.
Have they already planted them? Is this still something they want to do? I can't wait for this season!

Sorry, can't link from my phone.

you guys have the absolute worst location for a stadium in the league. Nothing but a fricking gas station in walking distance. It would be like if they plopped Tiger Stadium down in the middle of the Industriplex

That's what I was thinking. Really good idea, IMO...

So, you guys are having to pay for those tailgating spots? How much are the spots going for?(assuming they can be gotten, of course) Makes sense, IMO... Pay off that investment and start raising capital toward the future.

Any plans for future expansion of the area? Or is it even possible given the surroundings? Seems the demand is GREATLY outpacing the supply to me...

Weren't they planning on putting an upper deck in that end zone a few years ago? Thought I remembered seeing some renderings but I could be wrong.

that place looks like a complete dump. not the stadium, but the area around it. it looks like the stadium is located in some kind of industrial park. geez, plant a few trees.

Where's the Costello box suite going to go?

Looks great. The scoreboard definitely needed an upgrade.

Thats exactly what it is and exactly what we're doing.

Wish I had a before and after of the fairgrounds. It was just a massive dirt with some grass parking lot. But now trees, new grass, and newly paved asphalt etc.

Are they still gonna have the cocka doodle doo over the loudspeakers after touchdowns?
