Well what the frick else are you supposed to judge players by? Lattimore dominated the UGA, UF and UT games in 2010 on the way to 1000 yards.

He was dominating the UK game before he got hurt and put up 95ish yards on a Bama defense that hadnt allowed a 100 yard rusher in a few years.

In 2011 Lattimore was on his way to a transcendent season before he got hurt against MSU. He had gained 15 pounds from the previous year to get up to 228 and it showed. He had nearly 900 yards through 6 and a half games while playing in an offense with two true freshmen tackles and a drunk QB

I think we've had a few, but I think Herschel Walker set the new standard and nobody has really surpassed him .... and until somebody clearly does .... he remains the standard.

Yes, ArKansas will do this, once Bert gets his system in place.

No. Defenses are too fast.

McFadden not even being in this conversation is a bit stupid

I'd add potential GOAT; never fully panned out.

Bo Jackson was the GOAT.

Mark Ingram was truly the last elite running back of our time.

Except for the fact that McFadden is the 2nd most productive SEC back ever...

Was leading the NFL in rushing yards a few seasons ago before he got hurt. His problem is sustainability. Not skill.

I'm sure there will be great running backs come along, but there will never be another Herschel/Bo/Campell/etc.

It was simply a different era. Those guys were as big as a MLB but were also the fastest guy on the field. There are fantastic running backs every year of course, but none in that same mold. The game has evolved to where you just don't see a body like that move like that anymore.

Not saying Chubb is going to be the next Herschel but he looks pretty similar to me...
