But.. they weren't inept. Both offenses were very good. The defenses were just THAT good. True story.

Which have been by far the two most successful and consistently elite programs over the last 10 years?

auburn with its gimmick offense has been just as successful as LSU over the last 10 years

That's like saying Auburn and State's 3-2 game was the GOAT. It wasn't. It was shitty football

Last time I checked, Auburn played for a natty more recently than LSU and Bama

Bruh, ATM's brand of football is losing 3 games a year minimum. I don't think any 3 or 4 loss teams made it to the NC in 2015.

I don't see what that has to do with the apparent gimmick football

With you being an AU fan and your team not being involved in such pageantry, yeah, probably so.

They weren't inept, that's true. And both defenses were that good. I just think the threat of how good both defenses were was more powerful than both defenses in that game. The offenses were spring game vanilla outside of one or two plays.

I think it will be a much better game than either in 2011. I had to fight to stay awake while watching both of those games.

since 2005 you both have 2 SEC titles, one natty, and played in another. Interesting that gimmick football has accomplished as much as real football

That Alabama and LSU consistently play better football than any other team in the conference/nation? I agree that LSU humiliating Auburn doesn't change that.

Its tough for Bama and LSU fans to understand that it took being a fan of those teams to truly enjoy watching that game. Which is fine, I'm not shitting on the programs or their brand of football. Just saying the game was boring and it certainly was.

Jordan Jefferson threw a TD against Auburn. They beat you 45-10.

LSU has beaten Auburn 8 of the last 11 times they've played. You're just reaching now.

A game that results in a 9-6 score is prima facie NOT great.

There is a reason you don't see 9-6 games in the NFL ( and never really have).

Great games require offense and defense.
