Can't wait to see how jacked up Ohio State fans are for the Fiesta Bowl against Houston this year.

As a Buckeye fan I was already told Bama wasn't jacked for the game last year because it was a play-in game to GET to the title.

You were never told that. You just fabricated that bullshite to make some weak-arse strawman argument.

I just think it's funny when Gumps pretend they don't care about the Sugar Bowl.

I want to know in this era of BCS and playoffs, for which we compete every single year, why a non-consequential Sugar Bowl should be totally important to us but a Capital One Bowl is worth rolling on the floor laughing over.

In my opinion, they're both also-ran bowls, a shitty consolation prize for not being in the championship. I don't see a huge distinction for a championship caliber team. They're both "solid bowls" and disappointments

By discounting BCS bowls you are discounting past Bama national titles. Lest we forget a those bowls decided champions before what? 98?

Don't care so much about the OU Sugar Bowl. Yes
Don't care about the playoff semi final Sugar Bowl. No, and any Bama fan who tells you that they didn't care about wanting to win that game is lying.

That's a good place to start.

I mean, I care. I want to win. But it is asinine to act like you should be expected to care as much about an exhibition game with no chance to win a title as much as you care about title type games.

Especially when 75% of the last decade has been spent in title games, and 95% of our regular season games are played with the thought of winning a title still very much alive.

What are you talking about?

Oklahoma beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I've never said otherwise. I just don't think it's that important.

The BCS did not exist before '98, there was a shittier precursor system for just a few years in the mid90s.

Go away with that! Bama has "real" championships to talk about, like 2011.

You didn't start anywhere. Yes, it is called the Capital One Bowl. Used to be called the Citrus. That in itself doesn't mean anything. A 10-win team from the SEC could go to the Sugar or the Capital One, just depends on the situation of that year.

Games that Alabama has played since 2008 in which they had zero shot at a National Title

- 2008 Utah
- 2010 Mississippi State
- 2010 Auburn
- 2010 Michigan State
- 2013 Oklahoma

That's it. Seriously, go look it up, that is it. Every other game we have played (regular season and postseason) we were right in the thick of the championship hunt.

So, while it isn't an excuse, when 95% of your games are pressure packed MNC eliminators........and then all of a sudden you are out of that and in a game that isn't? It's only human to have a let down. It just is.

And I very much do not care nearly as much about a game that doesn't matter in a title chase after 13 games of it mattering. So, if that makes me a bad fan, then so be it.

(a) there was no BCS before 1998

(b) nobody is discounting "BCS Bowls", we are discounting games in which the winner still had 0% chance at a title. That was not the case in, say, the 1993 Sugar Bowl.

You're not a good troll. And it's not just THAT you're an Alabama troll. There are good Alabama trolls. You're not one of them. You need to get better at it.
