Lest we forget bama only beats bama. Every time they lose saban says they were either unmotivated or the players were looking ahead to the draft. Everybody saw that game and knew Alabama wanted to win. They just got beat in the trenches and out coached.

Sure, but the game isn't as prestigious because it has no bearing on winning a title.

Alabama has played : #2 Florida (08), #1 Florida (09) and #3 Georgia (12) in SECCG. Those games also were basically semifinal games for the National Title game (pre-playoff). I still wouldn't put those in the same category as Title games.

I agree. I do think part of the "out-coached" was that our guys probably didn't prepare the way they should have in the weeks before, but that is nobody's fault but our players and coaches. And Oklahoma played great, their QB was lights out and their DL whipped our OL.

As a Buckeye fan I was already told Bama wasn't jacked for the game last year because it was a play-in game to GET to the title. In other words, if they weren't chosen for it, they didn't care.

Yeah, that's horseshite.

Find me one link to anywhere on the internet where a Bama fan said anything like that and I'll eat my hat.

It was a big game we got excited for and we got beat. Simple as.

There's plenty of true shite about Bama fans that you can make fun of us for, you don't have to resort to making something up just to fit an argument.

Yea, what a load of crap. Just make something up and attach it to Alabama fans.

"In our experience last year, our team chemistry from the SEC championship game to the playoff game was affected by something,"

"We're talking about a young person who has to deal with a lot now," "We had six guys in this situation this past year and 11 the year before, so we're trying to get ready for a game, and all of a sudden a guy finds out he's a (potential) first-round pick, or a guy who thought he was a first-round pick finds out he's not a first-round draft pick.

"I think it would be better not to submit that information to a player until he was finished competing in college. We've moved the draft back, but we have not moved the date that a player has to declare back."

This is the excuse saban used after the tOSU loss.

Alright man, sounds good. He then followed up with a pretty clear "this is not an excuse, we lost to a better football team" speech, but whatever floats your boat.

quote:

"It wasn't an excuse at all for losing to Ohio State," Saban said. "There's no excuse. We didn't play as well as we wanted to play. That's my responsibility. It's my fault. It's my responsibility. I didn't manage it well enough to get our team ready to play the game, and our team chemistry wasn't what it needed to be, and that's all my responsibility."

Calm down now. Some clown from CBS sports with a handle of Mikey CoCo. First he claimed Bama wasn't going to allow OSU a first down all game, then he claimed it would be a worse beat down than Notre Dame two years before. Then he said Henry would run for 300 yards ( he may have been right if Lane kept running him against the Buckeye D ), then OSU wins and the jackass hasn't been seen or heard from ever since. WTF?

Ohhhh so its not an excuse but he clearly thinks it hurt the team. He said the unmotivation in 2013 wasn't an excuse either but yet it is. Saban does this after every loss. Its every bit of an excuse guys.

Alabama got murdered in last year

You should really work on your trolling. When you go over the top by calling a 7 point loss to the eventual national champs getting murdered, you out yourself and lose credibility.

Saying something like you did lets others point out how Oklahoma got murdered by an unranked, 4 win Texas team that got shut out by Iowa State and blown out 50-7 by a TCU team that was a batted pass from beating OU this weekend.

I just linked them the straight up quotes they asked for and now they are deflecting it. We see this every time saban loses.

Here's a better question for you: how badly does it gall OU fans to know that Alabama has won three national championships since the last time OU won one? Or, to rephrase the question, how bad does it hurt to know Alabama has won almost half as many NCs in the last seven years as OU has won in their entire existence?

Wait, what?

You claim Alabama fans said we didn't beat OSU last year because the team didn't get jacked enough because it was just a semi-final game and for proof you offer me some a-hole from the CBS Sports board who just ran his piehole and then went into hiding when he was wrong??

And with no link?

They don't teach critical thinking skills and debate tactics at OSU?

So you found one poster on a CBSSports message board named Mikey CoCo and then determined that Mr. CoCo was representative of all Alabama fans?

Makes sense.

Those quotes don't say shite about the players not being motivated because it was "just a play in game".

I asked for a link proving that Bama fans said anything close to what this Buckeye has claimed.

Go find me that and then we'll talk.

But Mr. CoCo is our spokesman. Don't you remember the alumni meeting a few years back?

An excuse is an excuse. Just because saban says "this isn't an excuse" doesn't mean anything. Saying your players were looking ahead to the draft instead of focusing on the game is a fricking excuse.
