OK..Arkansas is 12-10 versus Ole Miss since league division in 1992 and is 31-29 against them all time.

Well in 2 years of conference play they've defeated everyone except LSU!

Yeah. It's not like we've ever done it before or anything

I mean y'all have only seriously competed for the west title once since the SEC formed divisions. The closest Ole Miss has come other than 2003 was:
1992: finished 2nd at 5-3 behind 8-0 Alabama
2001: finished 2nd at 4-4 behind 5-3 LSU
2008: finished 2nd at 5-3 behind 8-0 Alabama

So I guess, y'all have seriously competed for a West title once in the 22 years of the SEC title game. However, Ole Miss has finished with a losing SEC record in 13 of 22 seasons and have won 2 or fewer SEC games in 7 of 22 seasons. Overall Ole Miss is 67-105 in the SEC since 1992 (average just about 3 SEC wins a season). Shockingly, David Cutcliff, is the only coach with a winning SEC record in the divisional era, and the same guy just took Duke, yes Duke, to their first 10 win season and first back-to-back bowl game appearances in school history. Someone from Ole Miss, as I can't remember anymore, why did you fire Cutcliff? I remember there being something more to it than just having a bad one season post Eli Manning. Guy is a class act and obviously knows how to coach with what he was able to do as a coordinator at UT for years,as well as his success at Ole Miss and now at Duke

They've finished 3rd or worse in the West both years with a heisman trophy winning QB. Excuse me while I yawn.

eh, outside Missouri, all your remaining games were against bad teams. Sure the Egg Bowl is oe of those games where you never know, but after LSU, you had 4 straight home games against Idaho, Arkansas, Troy, and Missouri. I actually thought y'all might beat Missouri the way you were playing, and I, too, wasn't sold on Missouri at the time. I think 9-3 was very doable given the circumstances post LSU. I don't know, maybe you felt differently.

Correct me if I'm wrong, OM would have won the SEC with Johnny Football.

ETA: I may start this thread tonight.

Now, they must compete with 4 not 3 other West superpowers for them to win the West. Further, Arkansas normally beats them more years than not.

Texas A&M is going to have to do better than a 3rd place finish in their division before they can claim to be a super power. Yes, they have the resources to be one, but the proof is in the pudding, and as of now, they've won exactly one game against a team of value. They're 0-2 against LSU, 1-1 against Alabama, 1-1 against Auburn with the lone win being against a team that finished 0-8 in the SEC. In the East, they lost to Florida last year and Missouri this year. I agree it was bad for Ole Miss, State, and Arkansas that A&M joined the conference, but ho,d your horses on calling them a superpower before they've won anything of merit to this point.

He wasn't able to finish higher than 3rd in the west at a school with more talent than Ole Miss currently has and almost lost to Ole Miss the past 2 seasons, so I'll go out on a limb and say no.

The season started off with a Vanderbilt win. A positive note to start on, but Ole Miss fans were still weary of the fact that they barely escaped the game with a win.

Then they played SE Missouri, once again, they barely escaped with a win. Ole Miss were incredibly weary but uncharacteristically enthusiastic.

Then they beat Texas at Texas. Finally Ole Miss fans were becoming somewhat optimistic.

Then they lost to Alabama in an embarrassing fashion. Ole Miss fans were like, "Meh, they're like the best team in the conference or something anyways.".

Then they lost to Auburn and Ole Miss fans were like, 'Well, I marked that as a win pre-season, maybe they were better than we thought.'

Then they lost to Texas A&M and Ole Miss fans were like, 'Well, I guess our only chance to upset anyone is LSU but that'll be impossible because our entire team is injured and we have obvious problems.'

Then they upset LSU. Ole Miss fans rejoiced.

Then they beat Idaho, woo. Then they beat Arkansas, woo, but not very convincingly thus Ole Miss fans started to worry again. Then they beat Troy, Ole Miss fans started to somewhat be optimistic again.

Then their offense completely disappeared and they lost terribly to both Missouri and State and now all the Ole Miss fans are like, "We'll win the recruiting championship."

And now they're losing that as well.

This can be said for the following teams in the SEC.

Ole Miss
Tennessee
Auburn
Florida
LSU
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

But for Kentucky, there is a chance.

define great.

since expansion in 1992
Florida has won 7 SEC titles, been to 10 title games, and won 3 national titles
LSU has won 4 SEC Titles, been to 5 titles games, and won 2 national Titles
Tennessee has won 2 SEC Titles, been to 5 title games and won 1 national title
Auburn has won 3 SEC titles, been to 5 title games, won 1 national title, had an undefeated season in 2004 and are playing in the national title game this season

I see you left out UGA, so I guess they're considered better? So let's do them.
UGA has won 2 SEC titles, been to 5 title games, and won 0 national titles.

In short, you are trolling or have a very short-term memory. Programs that have been great, unless Alabama's resume (and UGA for some reason) is the only way to be great, also include LSU, Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee. And only good occasionally, gtfo.

How am I being biased? To say we will NEVER be good at football is just ridiculous when history has proved otherwise.

what has history proven otherwise? that ole miss was at a disadvantage the minute the SEC integrated and haven't won anything of significance since? i think 60 years of history is pretty telling to most as to what is to be realistically expected for the future. Ole Miss won't always be bad, but they'll never be consistently good for any extended period of time either. It's just not realistic with the resources they have to work with in comparison to other members of the conference. They'll have good seasons here and there but that's about it, and there's nothing wrong with that.
