This internet stuff may be a bit too much for you.

As for Muschamp. All we can really do is wait and see. Anything else is a waste of mental energy, so no point in discussing it. Shut down the thread.

They are still melting over Chavis to Steele. It's okay, they'll get over it eventually.

Considering he's down voting you instead of responding, I'd say so. What is the LSU equivalent of AL.com? He should go there and prosper.

I like this. If your best defensive player doesn't play, your defense will struggle. But if he plays you can't point to any holes in my statement because I left a giant caveat i can drive excuses out of.

Grade A Ranter right there.

Rant rules say I should rant about depth and excuses. But Lawson is a different animal and if you don't have a stud DE in today's game your D will never look good.

You seem to post an awful lot about Muschamp, show us where he touched you

You guys had a grudge against a far superior coach in Gene Chizik, so don't give me that crap.

Additionally if he was the super genius on defense you would think his Florida defenses would have been better as it is they were a slight improvement in 2011 and 2012 (when Dan Quinn was carrying Muschamp) and then worse than the Meyer defenses in 2013 and 2014.

Will Muschamp gave up the most yards in school history in one game and the second most rushing yards in school history in another.

montana and some others on this thread need to go into a locked telephone booth with Muschamp and give him a peice of their mind.

Whats the chances all of them exit phone booth sucking their meals with a straw for a week?

I'm not sure either of those things are true.

But that shouldn't stop you.

Reel at this point last year you were telling everyone Muschamp had turned the corner and we were on the verge of a run when even outside observers knew we were just counting down the days until Foley finally realized what basically everyone else had already known. So forgive me if I doubt your powers of prognostication.

Why would we? He brought us a National Championship and he brought us the Great One, Cam Newton.

Still stands. Therefore your argument is invalid.

You are right about last year. Little did I know how bad of a job that Duke OC was going to be and neither did anyone else. True....he didnt have much to work with...but Muschamp is to blame for quick exit by Joker as WR coach? We were finally left with GA Leak to be a WR coach and he was not ready. Muschamp didnt call offensive plays...but he is ultimately responsible for the results.

Foley finally realized what basically everyone else had already known

This shows lack of knowledge of the situation. First of all Muschamp was very well liked by the President of UF and Foley...they didnt want to fire him...but obviously there were influential folks with $$$ that forced their hand. His defensive prowness cant be argued, but the OC hires didnt work out. 2013 was the result of massive injuries that Saban couldnt have salvaged.

Im ok with it all...we now have offensive minded coach and Im excited by it because of the tremendous defensive talent Boom recruited to UF even though he was under fire all the time. He straighten out Meyers mess and doled out punishment when players were out of hand. In 2011 we had no run game except for two scatbacks that didnt weigh more than 180 lbs...a starting qb injured early on etc etc.

Its easy to pass judgment and blame HCs and I wish those same people could face the same treatment at their places of employment.

Just hoping Collins turns out well...cause you do win championships with defense. He is like a pig in shite with what he inherited.

No one wants to fire someone, but nobody forced Foley to make the change either. By the end of year 4 it was obvious to everyone it wasn't going to work out. Foley is a smart guy, he understood the situation and that a change had to be made.

Reel, i disagree in part of your analysis of why Muschamp failed. I understand the injuries and issues out of his control, like Joker, but he was the HC. There was a reason that every OC that came in failed and that was because Muschamp, even though he claimed he didn't, handcuffed the play calling to protect the defense and keep the game close. The margin for error in this approach is small and when you make a couple mistakes and get behind or need to score the offense can't get it done. He is a great guy that lots of folks liked, he cleaned up the stink left from UM but wasn't ready to be a HC in the SEC.
