Why would they be without Lawson?

I like this. If your best defensive player doesn't play, your defense will struggle. But if he plays you can't point to any holes in my statement because I left a giant caveat i can drive excuses out of.

Grade A Ranter right there.

Even stuck the landing with an abbreviated 'deal with it.'

I wouldn't question whether or not he is a good coordinator because he obviously is. I only question why it's thought that he will spend a couple more years as a DC and then look to get back into a head coaching role. How is that supposed to turn him into a sought after candidate by going that route again? If he wanta to really prove himself as an HC he should take a job at a smaller program and show what he has instead of taking the safe route. He'll get paid thought because there will be an AD dumb enough to take the chance again.

I don't know if anyone was really interested in him. I could understand Zook's appeal because he recruited well across the board and was consistent. Muschamp is the only coach to lose a game while holding an opponent under 120 yards, and he did it twice. That is not exactly the type of thing that is going to get any fanbase excited, even at a much lower level.

To be frank about 2003...LSU saw Nick Saban as the reason for that ferocious defense and Will M. was his understudy. Only in 2008, the one year of LSU's co-defensive coordinators...which was a disaster...only in that year did an LSU defense yield more ppg than did Will M during his tenure at LSU....Pelini did better and Chavis did better....and by the way, Pelini's defenses over three years ppg were better than that of John Chavis. Defense over their collective tenures, best results: 1. Pelini 2. Chavis 3. Muschamp 4. Peveto/Mallory

It's laughable that they think Will can change this horrific defense in one year. Maybe 6-21, not 1. It will still be only top 50 or so if he even stays.

To be fair we gave up single digits to at least one team last year. Will be tough to improve on that.

No Aubie seriously has claimed Boom would make our D #1. You are in a complete melt mode son. Run and get a cold drink and settle down.

Makes you sleep better at night.

Can't wait till we beat the brakes off that declining Gus Bus and send you all into an even worse melt. You Aubbies melt over anything.

Gonna save my good post for AU-LSU! Plus I like the number of posts i'm at

The only thing that would concern me if I was an AU fan. Last year, in most games, your D gave up points in the first half, adjusted, and shut down teams in the 2nd. Opposite trend in the first game.

And having Kevin Steele will make you sleep better? Not everybody here will be in love with the Muschamp hire, but you'd be hard-pressed to find many people who would rather have your DC.

I see what you're saying, one game is tough to call a trend, but i think the whole 2nd half was pretty shitty for auburn last week.

Honest question - Would you rather have Kevin Steele or Will Muschamp as LSU's DC?

Wait, so Saban is responsible for 2003, but Will is responsible for 2002 & 2004?

Also, 2007 called. They wanted to let you know that 19.9 ppg is higher than 18.3, 11.0, & 17.1.

2013 would also like a word.
quote:

Defense over their collective tenures, best results: 1. Pelini 2. Chavis 3. Muschamp 4. Peveto/Mallory

Muschamp (02-04) - 15.5 ppg
Pelini (05-07) - 15.6 ppg
Chavis (09-14) - 17.1 ppg

Interdasting....
