What LSU fans? The very small majority on talk shows? I mean really. I don't know what's worse. The people who claim to represent the beliefs of an entire fanbase or the dumbasses from other teams who actually believe the opinions (whining, complaining etc) that they read here actually represent our fanbase as a whole.

LSU going to play whenever the league tells them to play you bitch. Other sec teams have played Thursday. You don't get special treatment.

Sounds like 2 out of 3 of your issues are with CBS and espn and the bowl selection committees. Not the SEC.

my beef is that the SEC doesn't fight for our traditions and our interests the way it does for some other schools.

Case in point: in 2010 LSU and Arkansas both finished with 10-2 records. Arkansas had beaten LSU and thus Slive campaigned the Sugar Bowl to take Arkansas. fine. This past season LSU and Texas A&M were both 10-2, but LSU had beaten A&M. Did Slive and Co campaign to get LSU into the Cotton Bowl? No, they didn't.

Do they campaign for us to keep more home night games the way they protect the DSOR and TSIO? No, they don't. Do they help us move our final game off that Friday back onto Saturday like we would like they way they did for the Iron Bowl? No, they didn't. And in fact now they are making us play on THURSDAY every other year to accommodate yet another conference member.

If I wasn't posting on my account I'd swear this was a Kaptin alter.

FWIW

In no way do I think it is worth leaving or threatening to leave a conference over but a while back Auburn and Alabama played on Thursday or Friday for Thanksgiving and the complaining was massive, immediate, and successful in returning that game to a Saturday.

Saturday games are more convenient for the fans in the stadium obviously. I won't go to a Turkey day game or a Friday game because I consider those days to be holidays with my family I rarely see. If it were on Saturday then great, I'd make the effort. The SEC obviously does have some choice over which teams they schedule on Thanksgiving or the day after Thanksgiving. It isn't like CBS started out demanding Arkansas vs LSU on those days instead of Auburn vs Alabama.

Y'all get at least 1 of those night games a year right?

Well, we get 1 TSIO and DSOR a year. Sounds fair to me.

Not in 2011 we didn't

I forget the exact number but something like 25% of our conference games have been at night over the last decade. So "fair" would be you get to play the TSIO every 4 years.

The SEC office doesn't protect TSIO, the schools voting on it do.

As far as bowls go and Slive campaigning, he does what is gonna earn the SEC the most money. He doesn't give one shite more about arky than he does LSU.

As far the night games, I'm pretty sure that there is no way espn and CBS would enter into a contract in which they don't get to pick the games which ultimately determines the time slot you play. So that just sucks for you.

If you wanna bitch and leave the SEC cause you play one game on a Thursday, then your just a whiny bitch.

No way LSU leaves, UNLESS, Les Miles lets a team vote decide that they leave. (like the Jeremy Hill thing)

...agree, the sec was fun, but time to move on...there's a media gold rush in the Louisiana swamps currently; go independent, sell TV rights to the history channel, A&E, CMT and watch the money roll-in...

Do they help us move our final game off that Friday back onto Saturday like we would like they way they did for the Iron Bowl?

Has the LSU administration publicly voiced this desire? Isn't this the first year for a Turkey Day game for LSU? Did the administration oppose this date? I'd like to read the article where that has been quoted, can you link and article ?

Is it the vocal minority fanbase that's opposed ? I'm sure if the administration was truly opposed then the game would not be on that day.

lots of well thought out responses as per usual

Well, it may be the standard SECr fare in terms of quality, but if you break the responses from the LSU posters (well, the ones I've read to this point, anyway), you're still getting some pretty useful feedback on your idea:

It's not very good.

How is that? We get 25% of our tradition, you get 25% of yours.
