Will LSU fans recall the Simmons/Fournette era fondly?

Both were #1 recruits in the country. Both went to LSU at the same time. Twenty years from now will LSU fans tell stories about having these two future pro stars on campus at the same time, despite Simmons never playing a postseason game and Fournette being on a bunch of 8 win teams?

Fournette, sure. One of the best running backs in SEC history.

Simmons? Nah.

It's not black or white for me. Awesome players wasted by shitty coaches. Exciting and infuriating.

I will remember Simmons less fondly than LF7 because he was only here for one year. Nothing against him because that's the nature of his sport.

Manziel won a Heisman and finished in the top 5. Will be tough for Fournette to do either going 8-4 and playing in the Texas Bowl but keep wishing on that shooting star

It'll be like when DiNardo had Cecil Collins, Kevin Faulk, and that other great tailback on the same team but they sucked. Those guys were fun to watch. They'll remember the players with a fondness but not the overall record.

Agree. For now at least, they're not comparable.

Fournette will be talked about in the same vein as Faulk. Hardworking, passionate and loved LSU. Simmons will be remembered as the player who only played up to his potential a couple of times. He used LSU....

sadly for buga i think he wont get the reverence of Faulk. Faulk is the one who made it cool for instate kids to choose LSU again. Faulk was an exciting time at LSU because we saw positive change for the first time in a while.

Buga comes in on the downfall from our championship caliber, he excites and is a beast but in the end we aren't wining a title of any kind with him. Its not his fault but before him we expected every player was going to leave here with an sec west title at the least.

They are at essentially the same spot in the trajectory of the program, Faulk was a bowl team but no titles, same as buga. The issue is Faulk was on the slow chug up to the top and Buga is on the fall from the top.
