Arkansas @ Rutgers is the more attractive game to Espn because of NYC.

That would be the worst Gameday ever. No one will watch that game.

Arky vs Rutgers is not as appealing as Auburn vs LSU... If Auburn loses to Mississippi State, maybe that helps out the chances of the gameday crew going to that game.

Like I said, they don't always go to the best game. Case in point, in 2010 the game of week 4 was #1 Bama @ #10 Arkansas. It was the only game for the entire weekend between 2 ranked teams.

Gameday went to Oregon State @ Boise.

You think Espn doesn't care about New York?

Have you ever watched Espn in your life?

I could see them going to some small time game that week.

But I seriously doubt they will go to Arkansas-Rutgers

Oh and nobody in New York gives 2 shits about Rutgers football.

I'm sure ESPN is salivating at NYC's huge CFB market

Ms. DS is from NYC and I'm amazed how little they know about College Football. If Notre Dame is involved they kind of sort of know about it but outside that they have no idea. A lot of those people have never even heard of most of the schools down here.

Gameday is on ESPN. That game was on CBS. That is what deterred them from picking that game. LSU-Auburn is an ESPN night game which exactly what they would want to promote.

What does that have to do with ESPN Gameday selection?

Are you kidding? Tennessee/Florida is a regional matchup, Rutgers is half an hour from Manhattan.

NYC is not a good cfb market, and no one in NYC cares about the girls school of New Jersey.

It's not a great market, but if they have a team it's Rutgers, lots of people in NYC go there. I'm sure you already know that judging by your handle.

You are right about Gameday doing non ESPN games but think of a crowd that would show up to that. Arkansas can't travel that well to NY for a non bowl game. LSU fans will show up in droves for gameday. If Auburn wins this week then it will be at LSU for a primetime SEC match up of undefeated teams.

Even huge sports fans in New York only watch a couple of ND games plus the BCSCG every year unless they went to a big football school for college which the vast majority of them didn't.
