I saw him some at Baylor and he's extremely talented. Do the Au fans think he's good enough to go to the NFL after one year, or will he stay for 2-3?

I think tools and potential matter more to NFL teams than college success. He's much better than Trubisky, imho, and Chicago gave away the farm to get him. It also matters who else is available.

I don't really know who the stars are in this year's QB class, though. Jackson, I suppose. Who else?

ETA - That being said, if he comes out and throws more INTs than TDs, of course he's not going anywhere, but I don't expect that from him.

As for myself and hopefully most Auburn fans

I'm done crowning the next great QB in May.

I'll let you know right after Thanksgiving.

Don't you have to be a junior to declare? I'm not sure about NFL draft rules.

Or is it a certain amount of years away from high school?

Good NFL QB Crop next year. If he has an exceptional year I could see him declaring. If Trubisky does well this year, then it could create a one and done (one year starter) scenario in College Football at QB. Cam was an exception, but I think most NFL Teams want a larger sample of work.

Best case scenario is that Gus rides our running game to the NC this season with Stidham as a game manager and then lets him shine in 2018 for the back-to-back NC and Heisman.

3 starts versus some weak arse competition in the Big 12 doesn't prove squat!!
Started against Kansas State, ranked #121 in pass defense, win.
Oklahoma, #33 pass defense, 16-27 59% 257 2TDs 2INTs, loss.
Oklahoma State, #95 pass defense, 12-21 57% 258 1TD.

This made me laugh so loud. He has never faced a defense like Alabama's and LSU's defenses. He will be introduced to SEC football with a very rude awakening

How can this be the best case scenario? You didn't mention banging two different SI swimsuit models every weekend for the next two years.
