If Arkansas's Band and Cheerleaders lined up on defense, could the Boogs do better than 1 for 23 on 3rd down?

I mean, that's it in a nutshell. Hindsight has made Arky fans bitter. Sure some of you might not dislike Gus, but you envy the success he brought a divisional opponent, hence all the threads. Gus's type of ball, or something similar, is the only way Arkansas will win the SEC. It won't happen out of a pro set. Mimicking teams with 5* at most positions when you have mostly 3* is a losing venture. Your best shot crashed your dreams along with his Harley.

What? Not adopting a style of play where other schools can out recruit and win? Sure. It makes sense to give yourself the best odds.

What did you think about AUs game Saturday? Improvements or more of the same?

Looked like more of the same to me. I had issue with the no-contact jersey on the QBs, especially if you expect running to be an integral part of your offense. I suspect allowing Franklin to run would open things up more.
Like last year, we moved the ball ok in the middle of the field and ended up kicking field goals. Carlson will probably be a Groza finalist again.

Gus will never compete with Arky again. Print those shirts. Make sure you can get them on the shelves at Wal-Mart. Need to prop up the state's employer.

Last year the media pundits had AU rated as the team to beat and probably CYP bound...well thats predictions for you. The pressure is off now...thats when some teams do their best work. UF was predicted to be 4th in the east and in 2006 when we took it to everyone (except AU btw on the plains) & won the BCS title...we were about rated 18th in the country in preseason by a lot of folks. I dont know how AU doies this year but it wouldnt surprise me if they do win a lot of games?

Oddly enough, it is years like this that AU pulls an AU and ends up doing exponentially better than expected.

Nobody has figured out Gus Malzahn's offense. When he has the right players, he's damn near impossible to stop.

If what you are saying is true then Gus only had his "players" ONE year. So he's still a ONE year wonder living off the Cam year which is what everyone has been saying anyway.

Or converting DBs to QB and leading the country in rushing.

Best Defense since 92. No, only bammers use that mantra.
