So they define a "decade" differently in ARRR-Kansas?

I guess that isn't as bad as no FB NC in a HALF CENTURY and no BB NC in FOREVER?

And we won the SEC and went to a national championship 3 years ago. We've seen a hell of a lot more consistent and sustained success than Florida or Georgia has so I'm not sure what your point is, when's the last time UGA won the SEC or a national title again? gtfo out of this thread

Not under McElwain. Not annually anyway.

Hold onto that rope brother.

We've been holding onto 1994 forever. You should learn from us, we're ELITE at ongoing delusion.

Yes, and it will be well before LSU is ever elite again.

You mean 1964. At least Arky can point to 6 SWC championships and 3 SEC West championships since then. Thanks, but if I wanted to learn about ongoing delusion, Oxford, MS is the place to find it.

Too bad recent history and recruiting rankings don't support your opinion.

Looks like Spurrier and Meyer made that program what it is.

This question is so stupid that it really doesn't warrant a response but I'm going to repons anyway and say that you are a moron and yes Florida WILL return to ELITE status..

Florida since the 1980's has only ever been one good coach away from being elite.

They had two good coaches, they were elite. They had two bad coaches, they were mediocre.

I don't think this is rocket science. If McElwain is a good coach, Florida will be elite again very quickly.

Gators were 7-5 last year (most likely 8-5 if Idaho wasn't rained out)
LSU was 8-5

Gators last championship was 2008
LSUs was 2007

Gators last BCS bowl game 2012
LSUs was 2011

Why don't you just worry about when LSU will be elite again?

This.

No, you had 2 elite coaches and were elite. One of those coaches will go down as a top 5 coach in SEC history and probably a top 10ish coach in NCAA history, while the other is currently a top 2 coach in America with another national title at his new gig. You don't just have "good" coaches and become elite. Spurrier and meyer were elite coaches.

If mcelwain is good, yall will be good/pretty good. I very seriously doubt he will take you to spurrier/meyer heights.

People said the same thing when Meyer was hired.

Hell, Galen Hall was going to build something great at Florida in the 80's before those BS sanctions.

If you are a good coach, you can win at Florida at an elite level, depending on your definition of elite.

I thread is such an Aggie-type premise. When UF has the right coach they are beastly. Same as LSU.

Even if Coach Mac isn't the guy, he opened Foley's eyes about investing more and more into facilities. The next guy will be set to compete with a full deck.

I'm not worried at all at this point.

That's what I'm saying though..galen hall was a good coach and did well at UF. Spurrier and Meyer won "elitely" (word?) at UF because...they are elite coaches.

Time will tell of course, but GM being a good coach doesn't mean that'll translate to national titles. The 2 best runs in UF football history have been when they've had historical, all-time coaches at the top of the profession. I doubt we'll end up saying that about GM.
