you realize the coach that took them to 2 national titles came to UF from the mountain west too right...

Yep....but do you really want to compare a guy with a 22-16 career record to a guy that took a Mountain West program to a BCS Bowl game in 2 years?

Florida's program will always be up and down. Florida produces such great skill players but not trench guys and some coaches don't adapt. Florida has to play finesse football (see Spurrier and Meyer) and don't produce the physical lineman or backs. Florida will have 12 win seasons but also a lot of 8 win seasons depending on who is coaching.

What a crock. Florida produces plenty of good lineman. Hell. the best DE and the best OL in the nation last year (2 of the top 4 overall) were from Florida and both almost ended up in Gainesville.

You're familiar with Joey Bosa aren't you?

Geez guys a lot of salt over a question. Its just a message board. Not my fault (or y'alls) Florida is slipping into mediocrity and irrelevancy.

You only hope we are. We had a string of bad years due poor recruiting on the line and a "me first" attitude (under Meyer) followed by a defensive minded HC who treated the O like an afterthought.

Looks like Saban made that program what it is.

Florida will once again become a national power.

But not until Les Miles leaves LSU

Gators were 7-5 last year (most likely 8-5 if Idaho wasn't rained out)
LSU was 8-5

Gators last championship was 2008
LSUs was 2007

Gators last BCS bowl game 2012
LSUs was 2011

Why don't you just worry about when LSU will be elite again?

While LSU has been rapidly on the rise the last few years?

Of course UF will get back to full strength, and soon IMO.

Because they have to deal with us every year. Us being down makes their life easier.

A/C & the population shift it allowed had much to do with the rise of Florida...

How long will it take to win the next natty is a better question.

It might be a long time before it happens and that is not a nock on them either. Just not easy to do.

The OP asked a legitimate question. I never saw it as taking a shot at UF. Looks like some of you are taking it that way. And most LSU fans seem to believe that UF will eventually be an elite program again.

There is some truth to that but beating a good UF team when we do helps us a lot more than it helps Bama beating a mediocre Tennessee team.

Will LSU ever be Elite in anything again?

Quickly approaching a decade with no FB or baseball natty?

Biggest tdecline in any major sport ever?
