Ole Miss does not have a big fanbase like a lot of other SEC schools. Sure, there are some sidewalkers, but if you walk around the grove and ask everybody who owns the tents that are set up where they went to school, I promise a VAST majority went to Ole Miss.
This. I live in Madison, but I only know one Ole Miss sidewalk fan. She went to the W, but her parents were true sidewalk fans.

Robot, The two flags do not stand evenly remotely for the same thing. Are you uneducated, uninformed, or a combinatin of the two?
Sorry, which two flags are you referring to?

So you respect the legalization of Gay Marriage in some states?

[quote]No it doesn't. It's not the actual flag the Confederacy flew. It's a flag the KKK and segregationists adopted in their quest against blacks. Even if it were the official flag of the Confederacy, the Confederacy lost. It's time to move on, and take the flag with it. If someone wants to still fly it on their personal property, fine, but it has no place on government grounds or on state flags, no matter the will of the people.
The poor blacks and whites that stayed in the south during reconstruction that felt the embarrassment of northern oppression still feel like that flag made the south different. It didn't just represent everything BAD but it represented the south's rise up. My grandparents were raised on the sharecropper farms and poor blacks and whites were proud to be from the south. In modern times things are very different. But, I understand that the flag doesn't represent HATE for everyone.

Quit making sense around here.
People just try to find something to get upset about and then bitch till they get their way.
It's the way of the world.

Again, I believe in the will of the people. It has nothing to do with my personal relationship with my Lord and Savior.

Yes those poor blacks much preferred being enslaved than being free and oppressed by the US Army that protected their rights and safety

Who cares what flag is being seen. I just hope everyone is going to watch Alabama run a train on Ole Piss.

Robot, if you do not know the difference, then you just proved my point.

Just fly this one. Most don't know jack shite and won't even know what it is. Can't be over reactionary if you're ignorant on the subject.

Hey, StopRobot, can we just agree to disagree on this flag business?
Roll Tide, man.

There was no slavery in North America before the Confederate flag existed.

I agree. We will never convince the other of our position. My ancestors served in The Revolutionary War, War Between the States, WW1, and WW2. I am proud of all of their service. If you had tried to tell them that the battle flag represented the same as the Nazis, they would have shoved your damn teeth down your mouth. I am done with this.

I know this is a joke and a troll, so forgive me for the serious response. But it really needs to be said:
I was working at Ole Miss when the confederate flag stopped being flown. The STUDENT government passed a resolution that the flag should not be flown. To support this resolution and give it teeth, the administration banned sticks. The decision to separate themselves from that symbol was made by the STUDENTS and supported by the administration.
To pretend otherwise, even joking, diminishes the significance of this action and is counterproductive to the cause. If we want to see things improve, we must support and applaud the progress when it is made, not just criticize the lack of it.
Well done, Ole Miss. Very well done.
