Recruiting rankings don't mean much. It's all about player development when they make it on campus.

Don't flatter yourself, noob...you aren't in any way responsible.

I've taken grief on this forum from a lot of people better than you. Actually, everyone has been better at it than you.

Look at the BCS Champs going back the last 10 years or so and get back with me.

they do matter to a point. you need blue chip(4-5*) starters at the very least to compete in the SEC. you can't just field a team full of 2/3*s and expect to compete in the SEC.

Chip Kelly disagrees.
Jim Harbaugh disagrees.
Dan Mullen disagrees.

Just to name a few.

Dan Mullen has close to a dozen 4*s on his two deep right now, not a ton but enough to be competitive, and that number will be growing. Kelly probably has around that number as well, and like Mullen, that number will be growing.
Harbaugh's recruiting is picking up as well.

Go take a peak at UO's classes over the past few years, I think you will be surprised. Same with Stanford's and MSU's.

MSUs two classes under Mullen have been top heavy, like I said blue chip talent will be to start for him. Kelly as well.

I'm a believer in having top talent. I was just pointing out that you don't always have to have the top talent to win games. Certain systems will allow you to take advantage of lesser talent. The SO that Mullen and Kelly run make it easier if you don't get the top 5 recruiting classes every year.

we saw on here long ago, some statistical analysis of rivals ratings and the actuals on the field.

There is a very high correlation between rivals and results. most years the #1 or #2 in rivals points is #1

now and then one that is not top two in rivals points sneaks in and wins the SEC W, but not often.

MSU finished fifth in their division this year. They are proof that you need top athletes to compete in the SEC.

Or what happens when you have a shaky QB and literally no WRs over the age of 20.
