Are you telling Auburn had rabid fan support before Pearl and when the program sucked?

We had pretty good support during the Ellis years.

The Lebo and especially Barbee years were just painful.

You take it and spin it anyway you want too! I truly don’t give a damn. It is certainly not the first rodeo though dawg.

Not spinning it any way just responding to another AU poster bizzare statement about UGA and GT fan support

Just like most schools,I'm sure you had very good support when the team was successful. But let's not act like you guys were killing it when the program was down...just like almost any other school.

Uh-oh, they get real touchy when you point this out.

Why would be touchy about capitalizing on a program changing opportunity? One of the best hiring decisions ever.

The Auburn at UGA tickets are at $98 to get in the door. That’s impressive demand

I would be curious if Pearl would have taken the Auburn job if we hadn’t built the new arena. Beard Eaves was turrible.

Pearl had absolutely nothing to lose, and neither did Auburn.

If he is hired and he fails, well it's Auburn basketball. Charles Barkley, Chris Porter, or Marquis Daniels ain't walking back through those doors, and Pearl doesn't really hurt his at that time severely tarnished rep.

Auburn would have at least shown that they were willing to hire absolutely anyone to try to build a basketball program.

I'm hoping UGA can find an opportunity like that after Crean is sent packing. After seeing Pearl's success at Auburn I wouldn't even care if they gave Pitino a shot.

You are 100% correct.

I certainly didn’t follow basketball much at all before pearl.

I know there is a group that despises him still today but I can’t wrap my head around their hate. I know he has had trouble with breaking rules in the past but the man seems extremely genuine, a great coach and extremely nice guy.

I know petino also has detractors but would be worth taking a shot to try to do what Auburn did.

He would leave if Rick Barnes gets fired or retires and come back to Knoxville. He loves it here, even lived here after he was fired.

Steven Pearl personally told me that his dad would do anything he could if the opportunity ever presented itself again to rewrite how his story ended at Tennessee.

I really hope y'all make a run at Bruce when y'all's job opens up. It would be so fricking satisfying to see those Vols insiders gaslight y'all's fanbase into really believing that Bruce is coming back, only to have the rug pulled out from under y'all's hopes and dreams once again Just like when y'all believed Tennessee would flip Carl Lawson, and when Auburn had literally no chance to land Walker Kessler but he was going to Tennessee because he's such great friends with Justin Powell how's Powell working out for y'all btw??? Thanks for making room on our roster for Wendell Green Jr

I’d be pretty shocked if Bruce left. He’s all but sealed himself having either the court or arena named after him.
