Chuck Persons situation was not something that helped Auburn at all. It was not a penalty of us cheating to win. It was a federal offense of an assistant coach.

And yet you still put yourselves on a BS probation over it.

Geez which one sounds more serious?
I would think BARELY escaping the death penalty is a bit more serious.
You, however, can't logically think at all....

Auburn put itself "ON PROBATION"?

Plus new arena,
I think that plays a very big part.
It was perfect timing for the program and Pearl plus being right down the road from Atlanta is obviously a factor.
UGA has to build a new facility if they ever wanna be relevant and keep basketball talent in state.

The crazy thing is that some around the country tout attendance numbers as the view of passionate fambase. Auburn intentionally built a small arena so it would be compact. It’s proved to be our “12th man”. I would be curious if UGA, Bama or other schools would want to follow suit.

AUBURN — Auburn men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl is suspended two games as the program immediately begins a four-year probation period during which two scholarships will be reduced from the program's allotment, among other minor penalties, the NCAA Committee on Infractions determined Friday at the end of its multi-year investigation of Auburn.
The team avoided a 2021-22 postseason ban by self-imposing one the previous year,

Never expected a barner to care about lying to the ncaa and telling your athletes to lie.
You didnt get to the #3 most penalized teams by being clean.

Isn't that kind of the trend with new arenas? I haven't really researched but it's obviously a good idea.
No matter how much they renovate Stegman it's still gonna look like it's 1968 on the outside.
The time is right to get something done and spill the FB momentum over into basketball.

I hope the best for your but don’t expect a full on change to your sports across the board. Even the new arena isn’t what made our environment so good. It’s pearl.

So, you don't understand the difference between self-imposed sanctions and putting oneself on probation?
Not surprising....

Oh nice, I love a game of semantics. Typical barn excuses.

I'm only talkin basketball here and don't really expect a "full on change" but facilities are a huge part of success. For years we lagged in FB facilities and it reflected in recruiting.Kirby's hiring along with facility upgrades already in the works and others pledged played a huge part in the current success.

You don't think both things aren't tied to each other? Sorry, agree to disagree.

You're right... but I hope the powers-that-be in Georgia don't do it.
Go all-in on Kirby, Georgia powers-that-be!

We got pearl because we we took a shot at a black sheep. I would say it’s mistaken to say we had anything planned out. Pearl came to Auburn because we rolled the dice. The arena was already built and played into what BP could do with it.
