Interesting. So this is why there's no NCIS Fayetteville. The creative opportunities would have been endless. Just think, Scott Bakula chases down the criminals who slaughtered the lieutenant's pig.

People in Louisiana think it's cool that so many movies are being filmed there, but in reality Hollywood is robbing your state blind.

Please explain to me how they're robbing us blind. We give them tax credits- they come and film in Louisiana. This creates jobs and helps the local economy. We are not paying them to film in Louisiana. We let them have a tax break to come film here because the movie industry is being hammered by California.
Look at this way If a movie is filmed in Louisiana and they owe $20000 in taxs and we give them a $10000 tax credit. We still make $10000. Hell if we give them $20000 tax credit we still come out Ahead because they use local labor and resources to film.

You know how delusional the arky fanbase are about their state here.

With the colorful history of Louisiana in general, and the mystique New Orleans holds, it is a damn good place to film at. So much material and options to work from. I'm a New Orleans lover and there isn't another place on earth quite like The Quarter, very unique.

That isn't the Walking Dead set and those aren't Walking Dead actors. That's just Arkansas and that's how the people look there.

The movie company's are able to sell the tax credits to anyone. The rich buy them and use them. People see this and assume corruption. But it's far from the truth. La just like the federal government only gets a small amount of its budget from individual taxes. What is lost is made up and them some from the film industry filming in la creating jobs and using local labor. People don't see the big picture and it doesn't help that local politicians use it as a way to get attention.

Funny that you bring up the jobs created and the "big picture" at the same time.

The only jobs created are temporary freelance jobs with no benefits. And the workers' paychecks are taxed in Louisiana AND California.

Although we aren't making as much revenue as we could if there were no tax credits, we are still making more money than we would without the movie industry.

We aren't exactly losing revenue when you think of the total economic impact. Nice try though.

So damn what. It puts money in the pockets of Louisiana people, so trying to put a negative spin on it is ignorant.
