Same here. Auburn and Alabama in general was a real culture shock to me. I was amazed at some of the things people said in passing like it was nothing at all

I do agree that there is an ingrained racism that exist in a lot of the south.

Sure, but people want to call you racist when you give valid criticism as to why you dislike him. That just makes everything worst.

I moved away from the south and came back and was astounded at how obvious it was.

Most people are racist in some way. But it is ridiculous that Cam catches so much flack for his antics considering so many other players act similarly.

Agree with both of those statements. But Cam is one of the greatest athletes in the NFL right now. He is held to a higher standard. It just comes with the territory and so many kids look up to him.

Yes. He has had it so hard and he can hardly function properly because of all the racism surrounding him.

You've got to be fricking kidding me.

I'm stunned at the stupidity of this statement and hope it's just a troll.

I'll just throw two names out.

Ya, I think that is a little misleading. Have traveled all over the country and the Northeast can be bad as well. I would say the west coast is probably the best in this regard.

Oh no doubt. The difference is the metro areas up north are a larger melting pot. For example, I live in Nashville which while a city, is still a white dominated southern city. Atlanta may be different.

Rural towns everywhere are full of racism though. I lived in Minneapolis and it's seemingly not inherent there because most folks from there grew up around many different cultures, races, religion etc

I've never really understood it. He doesn't trash people, he isn't a dirty player. He makes children extremely happy on the field, and off the field.

I will say that he did himself a disservice by walking out on the presser, but no one is perfect, and its not like he threw anyone under the bus or anything like that. He even humbly made it a point to congratulate Manning at midfield after the loss.

The entire "scandal" thing while he was at Auburn was a complete farce. Total witch-hunt, and he responded by not giving into the shitshow, and dominating the NCAA.

Yes, he should've dived for the ball on that fumble, but he will learn from it. Like I said, no one is perfect.

Don't compare him to Aaron Rodgers who's celebrations are shorter and less frequent than Cams. Also Rodgers is much more composed after a loss

Shut the frick up dumb arse. Aaron Rogers celebrations were long enough and frequent enough to earn him a contract with State Farm.

You're supposed to be a consummate professional as the leader of your team, not this

Has nothing to do with race at all. Plus, he's a piece of shite for bringing race into it and he got humbled so f him

I'll admit he's far too animated in losses. He's a pretty up and down person.

Nashville does feel different than other cities in the south. Much "whiter," for lack of a better word, than Atlanta, Charlotte, Richmond, Charleston, etc.

People want to pull the racist card out quickly. Just because someone has some racial tendencies doesnt make them a full blown racist. Its partially both nurture and nature. IMO a racist is more along the lines of someone who actually acts out on it, either vocally or actively. I dont think having some minor racially motivated judgments is cause to call someone a racists.

The argument is a hot topic because of the word itself and both sides of the topic use/definition of it
