He had a losing record at La Tech, and they improved when he left for UT for fricks sake

I knew very little about Dooley when Tennessee picked him up. Was he considered a promising coaching hire?

It was mixed from what I remember. He had a losing record at Louisiana Tech. He got some credit from his last name.

Did you read my post above that one? I haven't said a negative thing about Kirby or Sabanites on here I don't think ever (except Dooley). I just brought him up because he was a big fat Sabanite fail and there's no denying it. You need to pump the brakes.

I just looked up his record for when he was Head Coach at Louisiana tech:

5-7
8-5
4-8

I'm surprised Tennessee hired him with a resume like that.

When was the last time a true freshmen came in and won his division in this conference?

The last time it happened was never.

when was the last time jacob eason was QBing in this league? Also never.

I'm still on record as predicting 9-3, so no I'm not saying eason will win us the division. I'm just saying, every year shoudl stand on its own. What happened in the SEC in 1995 has literally nothing to do wiht this year. I mean hell it wasn't that long ago that no first year SEC HC had ever won the league then gus did it. And heck there probably haven't been that many fisrt year HCs to even win their division but miles, gus, and mcelwain have all done it recently.

Sooner or later, a freshman QB will win their division. If, for example, Jacob Eason were to have a Josh Rosen-type season, UGA could win the East.

I don't even think it would take being a FR AA type season when you look around the east.

UT: has UF/@UGA/@aTm/Bama in a row.
UF: gets LSU adn @Ark from the west. Plays @UT

Nobody, and I mean nobody, wanted to touch UT with a 10-ft pole. He was a desperate hire (should have gone the intermim coach route). Looking back, the only reason we were optimistic is because the dname "Dooley" and the fact that he coached under Saban. Oh and the fact that were were trying to justify it with anything and everything we could find because we were still going nuts from the breakup

Oh, I could go into how big of a fail that hire was by Mike Hamilton, but we'd be here all day.

Who's writing them off? I have them going 11-1, losing to UF. The only reason I have them losing to UF is that I don't think they can go 12-0, so they have to lose to somebody. And they can frick up a game with UF better than anybody.

We could have had Cutcliff, or gone the interim route with Kippy Brown.

umm...out of curiosity...why? No UGA fans even think we'll go 11-1. At least none I know.

We have the series lead and are 3-2 in our last 5 meetings.

compared to UT, who is 7 games back in the series and has lost 11 in a row.

.

Or for that matter...when was the last time a SEC head coach won the National Championship 4 of the last 7 years?

I don't quite share your enthusiasm for expectations, but I do see a path where it *could* happen if the stars aligned... 9-10 wins is where I see us... UT game makes or breaks the season in terms of repping the East most likely, but so long as we're competitive in all games, season could still be at least a moderate success at 8 wins.

frick you very much. UT has taken that trophy after last year's performance. But in short, yes... that game has been a bit of a clusterfrick more often than not over the last 20 years or so...

I knew you guys were going through a rough time with the way Kiffin did you. That still gets me.
